Hillsdale College Football hosts annual Charger Youth Football Camp

HILLSDALE - Hillsdale College football will be hosting its annual Chargers Youth Football Camp on Sunday, Aug. 13. The camp is for students entering grades 1-6 in the fall of 2023. The camp will be run by Hillsdale College football coaches and players, and it will be a mix of teaching general agility skills, position specific skills, and fun activities.

Hillsdale College football officials said the goal of the camp is to help kids learn the game of football and fall in love with the game at an early age. The camp costs $20 for the one-day session and includes a camp t-shirt. The camp session will be held at Muddy Waters Field in Hillsdale. The camp will start at 1 p.m. and is estimated to last until 4:30 p.m.

The schedule of the day's activities includes a check-in time at 1 p.m. It will be accompanied by a Welcome and Camp Itinerary overview. This will include comments from Charger football head coach Keith Otterbein. Warmups begin at 1:45 p.m., followed by agility drills and a break time. Campers will be split into position skill instruction for the remainder of the camp.

After skill instruction, camp participants will participate in an air ball game. Coach Otterbein will close out the camp with additional comments. Parents can register their children online by visiting hillsdalechargers.com, going to the Camps page under the department tab, and clicking on the link for the Youth Football Camp.
