Hillsdale Academy track wins jamboree at Bellevue; Pittsford girls win at home

Wednesday, May 5 brought big track league jamborees for almost every Hillsdale County program. Hillsdale Academy and other county teams went to Bellevue for a league jamboree. Pittsford hosted an SCAA jamboree.

This is a recap of top three placers for each county team at their respective events. Full results for these contests can be found at athletic.net. Bellevue SCAA Jamboree

Two county teams headed to Bellevue High School for an SCAA Jamboree. Hillsdale Academy won the event in both girls and boys team final scores. Colon came in second in the girls track scores and Climax-Scotts took second in the boys final scores.

Colts Conner Welden, Mikey Plemmons and Zane Socha took a one-two-three finish in the boys 400-meter dash. Welden had a final time of 55.2 seconds. Plemmons and Socha both had PRs at 56.0 and 58.5, respectively. Thomas Holm won the 800-meter dash with a new PR of 2:08.8. Jay Jenkins took second with a time of 2:14.5. Karol Schlueter took third with a PR time of 2:16.7.

Grayson Rorick took first in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:45.0. Reece Poole took third with a PR time of 5:04.6. James Rahe took second in the 3200 with a PR time of 11:23.6. Waldron Spartan Ryan Anderson took third with a new PR time of 12:00.0.

The 110-meter hurdles were won by Colt senior Max Cote with a time of 16.5. Dawson Scharer took third with a time of 17.5, a new PR. Alex Richards won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 45.0. Waldron Spartan Austin Cornett took second with a time of 45.4, a new PR.

The boys 4x100 team for Hillsdale Academy took third. The Colts won the 4x200 relay and the 4x400 relay. The Colts B team in the 4x400 took third. The 4x800 team took second for the Colts and the Spartan 4x800 team took third. In shot put, Conner Welden, Dominic Scharer and Magnus Heckel took first, second and third respectively. Welden had a throw of 39' 0. Scharer had a throw of 37' 3.75. Heckel had a throw of 36' 6.5, a new PR. In discus, Heckel took first with a throw of 116' 4.75. Scharer took second with a throw of 103' 2. Scharer took second in the high jump with a height of 5' 7. Academy pole vaulters Connor Hill and Alex Richardson took first and second respectively. Hill was listed as first with a jump of 9' 0, but Richards also had a jump of 9' 0.

For the girls events, Colts runners Haven Socha, Iris Millies, and Angela Alvarez took first, second and third respectively. Socha had a PR time of 13.7. Millies had a time of 13.8. Alvarez had a PR time of 13.9. In the 200, Madison Sallows took first with a time of 28.7, a new PR. Socha took second with a time of 28.9. Alvarez took third with a time of 29.2. In the 400, Colt senior Megan Roberts took first with a time of 1:01.3. Caroline Roberts took second with a time of 1:06.3. In the 800, Colt Abby Brownlee had a PR first-place time of 2:44.4. Colt Georgia Whalen took second with a time of 2:44.5. Ella Walton took third with a time of 2:48.6.

In the 1600-meter run, Brownlee took first with a time of 5:58.3. Walton took second with a time of 6:09.5. Olivia Trichka-Stuchell took third with a time of 6:31.3. In the 3200-meter run, Colt senior Whitney Wilkinson took first with a time of 12:38.5. Mary Holm had a third-place time of 14:24.7. In the 100-meter hurdles, Madison Sallows took first with a PR of 17.2. Lucy Cote took second for the Colts with a time of 17.6, a new PR. Karle Welden took third with a time of 18.5. Cote won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 52.5, a new PR. Karle Welden took third with a time of 57.2.

The Colts 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 teams won their races. Their B team took third in the 4x400. They took second in the 4x200. In discus, Ava King took second for the Colts with a throw of 84' 10.5. Evie Gray took third with a PR throw of 82' 7. Colt Julia Casper won the high jump with a height of 4' 5. Natalie Spielman took third with a height of 4' 3. Pole Vaulters Anne Gray, Spielman and Iris Millies took first, second and third respectively. Gray won with a height of 7' 0. Spielman and Millies each had 6' 0. In long jump, Haven Socha won with a jump of 15' 3. Zoe Plemmons had a jump of 14' 3.

SCAA Jamboree at Pittsford

The Pittsford Wildcats hosted an SCAA jamboree at Pittsford. Pittsford varsity girls track won the event with a final score of 167 points. Camden-Frontier took fourth and Will Carleton took sixth. Pittsford boys track took second with a final score of 124.5. Athens won the event with a score of 144 points. Camden-Frontier took fourth and Will Carleton took sixth. Litchfield also participated in the SCAA jamboree.

In the boys events, WCA junior Tyler Barnes took second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.0. Pittsford junior Gavyn Carden took third with a PR time of 12.22. In the 200, Camden-Frontier sophomore Kayden Hanning took third with a time of 26.02. In the 400, Wildcat senior Kade Spahr took second with a PR time of 57.35. In the 1600, Wildcat Bryce Williams took first with a new PR time of 5:00.89. In the 3200, Camden-Frontier senior Anthony Potts took second with a time of 11:47.51. Bryce Williams took third with a time of 12:37.31. In the 110-meter hurdles, Pittsford freshman Jacob Drawe took third with a time of 20.29.

The Pittsford 4x100 team took third. Pittsford's 4x200 team took second. The Wildcats' 4x400 team took first place. Camden-Frontier's 4x800 team took first place. In shot put, Wildcat senior Patrick VanDusen took first with a throw of 41-04.50, a new PR. He also took second in discus with a throw of 113' 03.0. Camden-Frontier thrower Jim Hagaman took third in discus with a throw of 97' 10. In high jump, Pittsford junior Legend Gore tied for second with a jump of 5' 7.0, a new PR. Ethan Wickham of Camden-Frontier tied also with a jump of 5' 07.0. Pittsford sophomore Teagan Williams took second with a height of 10' 0. Camden-Frontier freshman Kenton Clark took third with a height of 9' 06. In long jump, WCA junior Tyler Barnes took first with a PR jump of 19' 08. Wildcat senior Kade Spahr took third with a jump of 19' 09.75.

In the girls events, Pittsford junior Halle Clark took second in the 100-meter dash with a PR time of 14.03. She also took first in the 200-meter dash with a new PR time of 28.69. Ana Camila Salazar took third for Pittsford in the 200 with a new PR time of 29.94. The 400-meter dash was also won by Halle Clark with a new PR time of 1:04.89. Pittsford junior Brooke Smith won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:38.75. She also won the 1600 with a time of 6:30.63. Right behind Smith was teammate Riley McCumber, who took second with a time of 6:32.13. Smith took second in the 3200 with a time of 12:54.28.

The 100-meter hurdles saw Hope Reamer from Camden-Frontier take third with a time of 20.39. Reamer also took third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 57.74.

Pittsford's 4x100 team took second and Camden-Frontier's team took third. Pittsford's 4x200 team took third. Pittsford's 4x800-meter ream took second. In shot put, Madison Recob of Will Carleton took first place with a new PR throw of 30' 08.50. In discus, Shelby Bryner of Pittsford took second with a throw of 75' 11. High jump saw Riley McCumber take third with a jump of 4' 03. Pittsford sophomore Savannah Watkins won with a height of 7' 06. Senior Emilee Jagielski took second with a height of 7' 03, a new PR. Hope Reamer of Camden-Frontier took third with a PR height of 6' 06.
