Hill makes a splash: Fantastic Five MetroWest high school athletes from Tuesday, January 9

The cream is rising to the top. Our Fantastic Five athletes for Tuesday, Jan. 9 kept their teams in the win column. There were monster performances on the hardwood, in the pool and on the mats.

Here are the Fantastic Five Athletes from Tuesday:

LOGAN GREENLAW, Keefe Tech boys basketball

He notched a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds in a 56-46 win over Main South on Tuesday. Anthony Venezia added 10 points, while George Anastos scored eight for the Broncos (6-1, 2-0 Colonial).

CARA HILL, Wayland girls swimming & diving

The junior captured the 100-yard breaststroke and 50 freestyle, as the Warriors remained undefeated 98-88 over Concord-Carlisle on Tuesday. Miriam Qureshi placed first in the 500 free, and Adah Shulman took first in the 100 butterfly for Wayland (7-0, 6-0 Dual County League).

BEN HONAN/ARI JAIN/KAPISH KAZA, Westborough boys swimming & diving

Honan captured the 200-yard freestyle and 500 free titles, while Kaza won the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke, as the Rangers bested Nashoba 121-19 on Tuesday. Jain took first in the 200 IM and 100 free. Westborough (3-2, 3-0 Mid-Wach B) remained undefeated in league meets.

DANIKA KIRBY, Blackstone Valley Tech girls basketball

She scored 20 points and hit three 3s, as the Beavers (4-4, 3-0 Colonial) took down Assabet 53-20 on Tuesday. Ava Palizzolo contributed 13 points for Assabet (0-7, 0-2).

MAGGIE SPRING, Framingham gymnastics

The senior captain opened the season against Newton North with wins on balance beam and vault, scoring a 9.0 on both. She finished second in the all-around with a 35.4 and third on floor 8.6 on Tuesday. The young Flyers fell 137.9-123.1.

MEDFIELD 58, Medway 40: Caden Reisman led the Mustangs (4-4, 4-2 TV:) with 14 points on the road Tuesday.

BELLINGHAM 51, Ashland 21: Dasha Domercant scored 19 points off the bench for the Blackhawks at home Tuesday. Ross Priscella added 10 points for Bellingham (5-4, 3-3 TVL), which outscored the Clockers 16-1 in the third quarter and 31-7 in the second half.

NORWOOD 78, Millis 71: Freshman Jack Carter posted a massive double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds in a loss Tuesday. Adam Hart added 19 points and eight rebounds for Millis (4-4, 2-4 TVL).

BLACKSTONE VALLEY TECH 75, Assabet 47: Three double-digit scorers boosted the Beavers (3-4, 2-0 Colonial) on Tuesday. Ryan Sauther led the way with 15 points, while Alex Burgos scored 10. Corey Magill had 11 for BVT. Anthony Baum led Assabet with nine points.

BLACKSTONE-MILLVILLE 61, Nipmuc 59: Chase Kelly lit up the Chargers with eight 3s and 26 points, but the Warriors (6-2, 2-1 Dual Valley League) couldn't hold on in Blackstone.

DOUGLAS 49, Hopedale 44: Patrick Madden scored 20 points, but the Blue Raiders couldn't erase their eight-point halftime deficit. Nate Rutkowski chipped in nine points for Hopedale (3-5, 0-3 DVC).

Girls basketball

HOPKINTON 42, Dover-Sherborn 28: Kate Finnegan led the Hillers with nine points, as they won their fifth game in a row. Holly Paharik keyed the defense for Hopkinton (6-2, 4-2 TVL), which held the Raiders to 11 points in the second half.

WEYMOUTH 61, Natick 46: Christina Lopas scored 15 points for the Redhawks on Tuesday. Olivia Penn added 11, while Sammy Collins chipped in 10 for Natick (2-6, 1-4 Bay State Conference).

HOLLISTON 39, Dedham 36: Megan Lyons paced the Panthers (4-4, 3-3 TVL) with 10 points. Megan Simpson contributed nine points for Holliston.

NIPMUC 24, Blackstone-Millville 20: Paige Anderson paced the Warriors with eight points in a gritty defensive effort Tuesday. Meg McCobb and Savannah Carr added seven points each for Nipmuc (3-3, 2-1 DVC).

HOPEDALE 54, Douglas 15: Phoebe Carroll led 14 Blue Raiders scorers with 11 points Tuesday. Bea Hava added eight for Hopedale (3-5, 2-1 DVC).

Boys swimming & diving

WAYLAND 90, Concord-Carlisle 87: Aidan Huang placed first in the 200 IM and 100 freestyle, as the Warriors remained without a loss Tuesday. Peter Morris captured first place in the distance freestyle events (200 and 500). Alex Lu touched first in the 50 free, and David Ryu won the 100 breast.

Girls swimming & diving

WESTBOROUGH 97, Nashoba 73: Two double winners kept the Rangers undefeated Tuesday. Caitlyn Reitsma won the 200 individual medley and 100 fly, Sophie Robinson showed her sprint freestyle chops in taking the 50 and 100.
