Highlights: The Texas A&M baseball team stay perfect beating UIW 9-3 in midweek matchup

Texas A&M (4-0) homers their way past Incarnate Word (3-1) with a 9-3 victory at Blue Bell Park.

The game against UIW saw the return of power pitcher Chris Cortez (1-0) back to the mound for the first time this season. He is definitely a wild card with a ton of potential but had issues locating the strike zone all last season. Tuesday evening was a pleasant sight to he him settle in after the first two innings and get some solid work. he ended the night with 5.2 innings pitched, eight strikeouts, and zero walks earning the win.

The big bats were back on display with the Aggies hitting five balls out of the park, increasing their season total to 11 through just four games. All-American Jace LaViolette doubled up again and now has five home runs and 11 RBI already on the season. At this rate, he might hit over 30 home runs with a chance to surpass Texas A&M Hall of Famer Daylon Holt’s single-season home run record of 34.

Below you can watch the highlights from the game.

The Aggies begin a three-game home series on Friday at 6 p.m. versus Wagner College of Staten Island, New York.
