Here's a roundup of high school varsity action on Monday, Jan. 29.

Girls basketball

Southern 54, Calvert 6: Huntyr Marks led all scorers with 14 points for Southern. Gabrielle Tompkins added eight points, eight rebounds and four assists. Sidney Shaw chipped in eight and five, while Abigail Mackiewicz had seven and five in the resounding win.

Chesapeake 53, St. John's Catholic Prep 35: The Cougars were led by Maggie Lawrence's 12 points and eight rebounds. Kasey Slade had the reverse stat line: eight points and 12 boards. Kendall Kotofski added nine points in the win.

North Harford 60, Perryville 40: A double-double from junior Emily Signor, who had 23 points and 18 rebounds, steered the Hawks to a convincing win after being tied at halftime. Senior Caroline Nicholson had 21 points with nine boards and six assists. Lauren Nicholson had 10, seven and five.

Bel Air 41, Elkton 40: Junior Paige Feick scored 11 points for the Bobcats. Senior Gabby Awuah added nine more in the narrow win.

Indian Creek 62, Chaplegate 21: The visiting Eagles (12-5, 8-0 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland C Conference) got off to a strong first half and took a 37-2 advantage, led by a strong pressure defense. Indian Creek was led by Abbie Bunker with 20 points and Malinda Morgan with 18.

Mount de Sales 43, Dulaney 34: Shelby Lewis led all scorers with 26 points and seven rebounds. The Sailors are now 15 and 4 overall for the season.

C. Milton Wright 41, Northeast 25: Sam Wolfkill and Emma Jankowiak each scored 12 points in the Mustangs' win.

Harford Tech 31, Aberdeen 26: Nyjah Harris had 13 points and six steals in the loss. Amara Armstrong neared a triple-double with nine points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks.

Edgewood 50, Fallston 47: The Rams closed out their first win over Fallston in nine seasons. Sam Donovan led the way with a career-high 29 points. India Satterfield had nine with 13 of the team's 41 rebounds.

Boys basketball

McDonogh 56, St. Vincent Pallotti 44: Jeff Exinor's 17 points and Rob Fields' 15 powered the Eagles to a double-digit win. Mikes Connelly paced the Panthers with a game-high 21 points.

Crofton 65, Patterson Mill 60: Will Frost finished with a game-high 25 points in the narrow win. Yasin Tucker-Bey scored 19 points and Miles Denton added 12. Crofton sank nine of 14 3-pointers in the win.

South River 60, Northeast 50: James Crimaudo totaled 27 points in the win. Jack Schrader, Liam Barney and Jaden McDuffie each scored in double figures. Northeast's Cameron Albury scored his 1,000th career point in the loss.

Chapelgate Christian Academy 56, Friends School 50: Justin Bishop led the way for the visiting Yellow Jackets with 20 points and eight rebounds. Justin Davis added 12 points and six rebounds. Chapelgate will next host Severn on Wednesday.

Gerstell 49, Park School 24: Gerstell took a 10-point lead into halftime before blowing the game open in the second half. Travis Smith led all scorers with 12 points and five steals. Gavin Larson had 11 points, and Colin Toms added nine points and five rebounds.

Glenelg 54, South Carroll 48: Will Piwowarski scored 12 points to lead the Gladiators in the home victory. Christian Chen added 10 points in the win.

Centennial 59, Urbana 58: The Eagles held on for a narrow win as Drew Dreisch scored a season-high 21 points. Josh Frazier chipped in 17 points as well.

Wrestling

North East 56, Edgewood 24: The Rams earned pins from Jayvon Jones-Drayton (126) and Miles Putney (285) in the convincing win.

Manchester Valley 54, Century 15: The Mavericks earned pins from Ryan Hydorn (126), Bradyen VanDerVoort (144), Kingston Canby (165) and Gunnar Grimm (190).
