High school soccer roundup: Dalton defeats Vestavia Hills in Alabama event, Creek and Calhoun play to scoreless tie

Dalton (2-0) knocked off Vestavia Hills 2-0 Saturday at an event played in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, which is near Birmingham.

Ivan Rodriguez scored the first Dalton goal off of an assist from David Saldana. Saldana also assisted on the second, finding Chris Lopez for the goal.

Dalton's next game is tonight at 7:30 at Southeast Whitfield.

Coahulla Creek 0, Calhoun 0 (tie)

Coahulla Creek (2-0-1) played to a scoreless tie with Calhoun (3-0-1) on a drizzly night in Varnell.

The Colts scored four goals and three goals respectively in their first two games, but were unable to get in a goal against undefeated Calhoun in the wet weather.

Coahulla plays Murray County tonight at 7.

Berkmar 6, Southeast Whitfield 2

Southeast Whitfield (0-3) fell to Berkmar (1-0-1) 6-2 Saturday in a game played at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega.

Southeast is still looking for its first win of the season, and the Raiders' next game will be a challenge.

Southeast hosts Dalton tonight at 7:30.

Dade County 2, Coahulla Creek 0Coahulla Creek (2-1) lost for the first time in the 2024 season Monday night, falling 2-0 at home to Dade County (2-0).

The Lady Colts will try to regroup tonight at 5 against Murray County.
