High school soccer roundup: Late go-ahead goal by Torres lifts Dalton over Pebblebrook

Mar. 19—Boys Dalton 3, Pebblebrook 2

Dalton (9-3-1) scored a go-ahead goal with two minutes left to defeat Pebblebrook (8-4) 3-2 Tuesday.

Pebblebrook led 2-1 at halftime, but the Catamounts scored two unanswered goals after half, first an equalizer and then the game-winner by Fancisco Torres.

Angel Salaises and Diego Paez scored goals for Dalton and added an assist, while David Saldana also assisted.

Dalton plays at Hiram Friday at 7:30 p.m.

North Murray 4, Ridgeland 1

North Murray (4-6) ended a three-game skid with a 4-1 win over Ridgeland (6-8) Tuesday.

Sergio Miranda scored two goals for North Murray. Jace Cameron and Henry Pablo scored one apiece. Pablo and Juan Martinez each had an assist.

Josue Rodriguez had seven saves in goal.

North Murray hosts Dalton Academy on Friday at 7 p.m.

Coahulla Creek 3, Ringgold 0

Coahulla Creek (8-4-1) defeated Ringgold (2-6) 3-0 Tuesday.

Omar Mendiola, Miguel Arredondo and Anderson Tobar each scored a goal for Creek. Arredondo and Diego Fraire assisted.

Creek is at Bremen Friday at 7 p.m.

Southeast Whitfield 5, Sonoraville 0

Southeast Whitfield (6-4) defeated Sonoraville (4-6) 5-0 on Tuesday.

Bryan Delgado, Jonathan Garcia, Jairo Garcia, Joseph Pina and Victor Cordoba scored goals for Southeast.

The Raiders led 3-0 at halftime.

Northwest Whitfield 11, Central-Carrollton 1

Northwest Whitfield (3-5-3) powered past Central-Carrollton (5-5) 11-1 Tuesday night.

The Bruins ended the game by gaining a 10-goal lead with 9:45 to play.

Matthew Molina had three goals and three assists for Northwest. Connor Stiles had two goals. Anthony Rodriguez, Giovanni Jimenez, Jose Padilla, Javier De La Cruz, JJ Plaza and Fredy Lara each had a goal. Chris Tapia had four assists, while Rodriguez and Plaza each had an assist.

The Bruins ended a two-game slide with the win and will host Heritage on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Girls Lambert 2, Dalton 0

Dalton (5-4-2) fell 2-0 against Class 7A Lambert (8-2-2) Tuesday night.

Lambert put in a goal in each half to end a streak of five Dalton games without a loss.

Dalton steps back into Region 7-5A play Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Coahulla Creek 7, Ringgold 0

Coahulla Creek (8-4) shut out Ringgold (1-7-1) 7-0 on Tuesday.

Nathalie Cuenca had three goals for the Lady Colts, and Lilli Johnson scored two goals and had two assists.

Natalia Tino had a pair of goals, and Natalie Martinez had an assist.

Creek, which remains unbeaten in Region 6-3A at 4-0, plays at Bremen Friday at 5 p.m.

Southeast Whitfield 3, Sonoraville 0

Southeast Whitfield (7-1) bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 3-0 Region 7-4A win over Sonoraville (4-6-1) Tuesday.

Karen Garcia, Allison Maldonado and Giselle Garcia each scored for Southeast.

the Lady Raiders travel to play Central-Carrollton on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Northwest Whitfield 10, Central-Carrollton 0

Northwest Whitfield (9-2-1) blanked Central-Carrollton (2-9) 10-0 Tuesday.

The Lady Bruins piled up six goals in the first half and scored the 10th with 18:06 left, ending the game early.

Sadie Clark and Meryl Clark both scored four goals for Northwest, and Meryl added three assists. Yuli Herreda had a goal and three assists, and Lexi Lyon had a goal and a pair of assists.

Northwest is at Dade County on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
