HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Silver Lake softball tops Marshfield to clinch division title

Four different players each drove in three runs as the Silver Lake Regional High softball team beat Marshfield, 15-3, on Thursday to clinch the Patriot League Keenan Division crown.

Madyson Bryan (3-for-3), Delaney Moquin (3-for-3), Brianna Ghilardi (2-for-4) and Hannah Selig (2-for-4) each had three RBIs for the Lakers. Moquin homered, and Alanna Waters was 3-for-4.

SOFTBALL

Oliver Ames 10, Sharon 3: Devon Morris (3-for-5, 2 runs, 2 steals, 3 RBIs), Emily Martin (2-for-4, 2 runs), Katie Melendy (2-for-3, 2 RBIs) and Crystaliah Covel (2-for-4, 3 runs, RBI) led OA to a road win. Melendy pitched 2 innings with 2 strikeouts, allowing only 2 hits, and Taylor Marino pitched 5 innings in relief, striking out 3 and allowing 5 hits and 3 runs.

Hanover 8, North Quincy 5: The Hawks (11-6, 10-4) banged out 16 hits to win a Patriot League road game. Kaelyn Chase was 4-for-4 with a double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs. Noey Giardina (3-for-4, home run, 3 RBIs), McKenzie Foley (2 hits, 2 runs) and Kate Baldinelli (2 hits, double, 2 RBIs) also starred. Winning pitcher Talia Beer improved to 4-1.

Plymouth North sweeps Duxbury: The host Blue Eagles swept a doubleheader against the Dragons, winning 13-7 and 10-9. Molly Ryan got the win in the first game, pitching all 7 innings and striking out 5, while Callie Smith was 4-for-5 with a triple and a home run, Bella Piekarski, Ryan and Haylee Joudrey each got a pair of hits and Gabi Bacci homered. Victoria Parent earned the complete-game win in the second game as Smith was 4-for-4 with a double. Haylee Joudrey was a defensive standout in center field in both games.

Southeastern 1, New Bedford Voke 0: Julie Chisholm homered for the game's only run and threw a 2-hit shutout with 14 strikeouts and no walks for the Hawks. She was 2-for-3 at the plate.

Bishop Feehan 5, Bridgewater-Raynham 3: In the non-league home loss, B-R gave up 5 unearned runs in the fifth inning. Lily Welch took the loss despite allowing just 3 hits in a complete game with 12 strikeouts and a walk.

Carver 18, Mashpee 1: The host Crusaders scored 10 runs in the second inning and had 20 hits overall.

Walpole 3, Abington 0: The Green Wave (12-5) lost a non-league game on the road.

Plymouth South 15, Quincy 0: The Panthers won a Patriot League game.

Middleboro 13, Norwell 3: The Sachems won a South Shore League road game.

BASEBALL

Hanover 6, North Quincy 5: Cole Hendrickson delivered a two-run, walk-off single as the host Hawks (12-4) rallied to win their 11th straight game. Jack Douglas (2 scoreless innings) earned the victory in relief of starter Owen Kennedy. Hendrickson and John McDonald had multiple hits for Hanover. NQ was led by Kevin Pritchard (2 hits, 2 walks, 2 RBIs), Max Gaudiano (2 hits, double, RBI), Vinny O'Leary (2 hits, walk, 2 runs, steal), Charlie Baker (RBI) and Alex Montero (hit, 2 runs).

Carver 15, Mashpee 2: Derek Lopes was 3-for-3 with 2 triples and a home run before being intentionally walked twice in the Crusaders' road win. Nate Dirado and Teagan Zackerewski each had 3 hits as Carver had 17 total. Joey Manning notched his third win of the season.

Silver Lake 5, Marshfield 4: Nicky Peterson (2-for-4, 2 runs, RBI) and Connor Finn (2-for-3, 2 RBIs) starred as the Lakers won a Patriot League road game. Sophomore Jack LaNatra earned his first career win, pitching 4.1 innings. Collin Monteiro worked 2.2 innings for the save.

Scituate sweeps Pembroke: The host Sailors won both games of a Patriot League doubleheader against the Titans by scores of 11-3 and 10-2.

Oliver Ames 17, Sharon 2 (5 inn.): The Tigers won at home.

Middleboro 13, Norwell 5: The Sachems (10-5) won at home in South Shore League action.

Holbrook 10, South Shore Tech 9: The Bulldogs beat the Vikings on the road in Mayflower Athletic Conference action.

BOYS LACROSSE

Milton 8, Walpole 7: The host Wildcats trailed 7-6 with under a minute to play, but Luke Hartford netted the equalizer and Danny Drozdick scored the winner with 29 seconds left to complete a hat trick.

Scituate 14, Pembroke 4: Will Robinson (4 goals, assist) and Peter Cappadona (3 goals, assist) starred as the Sailors (10-7) beat the Titans at home in Patriot League action to clinch a Div. 2 playoff berth.

Hanover 18, Quincy/North Quincy 9: Thomas Cronan (5 goals, 2 assists), Ben Hickey (5 goals, assist) and Matt Connerty (2 goals, 3 assists) led the Hawks to a Patriot League road win. Teddy Lynch and Mikey Galligan each had a hat trick and an assist for Q/NQ, Steve Gallant scored twice and goalie Jacoby Quinn made 17 saves.

Hull 9, East Bridgewater 8: The visiting Pirates (10-5) overcame a 5-0 first-quarter deficit, winning on John Gianibas' goal with 2.1 seconds left in regulation. Sean Walsh made 18 saves for Hull.

Bridgewater-Raynham 5, Barnstable 3: Jayson Keller had a hat trick, and Pat Concannon and Zach Sinclair each added goals for B-R (10-5) in the road win. Goalie Shaun LaCivita made 10 saves.

Boston Latin 8, Oliver Ames 6: Ben Reardon (4 goals), Ryan Jaco and Alex McAndrew scored for the Tigers (9-8) in the loss. Goalie Noah Isleib made 14 saves.

Marshfield 14, Plymouth North 3: The Rams won at home in Patriot League action.

Duxbury 13, Silver Lake 12: Sam Wien scored at the buzzer to give the Dragons a Patriot League home win. Brandon Cavicchi had 5 goals and an assist for the Lakers.

Hingham 17, Whitman-Hanson 1: Gavin McCarthy scored the lone goal for W-H (6-9, 6-4 Patriot League).

GIRLS LACROSSE

Plymouth North 14, Marshfield 10: Annika Pyy scored 10 goals for the second straight game to power North. Stella Kirkpatrick had a hat trick, Addie Pyy added a goal and Kendi Rich made 10 saves.

Bridgewater-Raynham 19, Mashpee 12: Emily Keefe (8 goals, 2 assists), Sophia Perry (5 goals, 2 assists) and Lexi White (2 goals, 4 assists) led B-R to a road win. Audrey Lambert (2), Kate Lambert and Emily Long added goals, and Ainsley Yates made 18 saves.

Weymouth 13, Natick 9: Cameron Flaherty had 7 points and 5 draw controls to lead the Wildcats to a road win. Megan Doyle added 3 points, 6 draw controls and 4 caused turnovers, and goalie Anya Younie made 8 saves.

Hingham 19, Whitman-Hanson 3: Madeline Packard scored 5 goals, and Stella Brazis and Caroline Connolly each added 5 points as the Harborwomen (11-7) won on the road. Ella Nagle (2 goals) and Liv Godwin (13 saves) starred for W-H (6-7, 2-6 Patriot League).

Scituate 16, Pembroke 2: Charlotte Spaulding had 7 goals and an assist as the Sailors won a Patriot League road game. Katie Tarsala (3 goals, 2 assists), Pauli Johnson (3 goals), Kate Stone (2 goals, 2 assists) and Sarah Gillis (goal, 2 assists) also starred.

Quincy 17, Plymouth South 6: The Presidents won a Patriot League game.

GIRLS TENNIS

Bridgewater-Raynham 5, Brockton 0: Nicole Kimball (No. 1), Holly Nichols (No. 2) and Catherine Taylor (No. 3) won in singles for B-R (9-2, 6-1 Southeast Conference). The Trojans also swept the doubles with the teams of Marlena Colwell/Lily Cooley and Annaliese Colwell/Eily Mitchell.

Silver Lake 4, Marshfield 1: Sarah Thomas (No. 1), Aislin Dalrymple (No. 2) and Alyssa Thomas (No. 3) swept the singles matches for the Lakers, who also won at second doubles with the team of Summer Homles/Ellery Roche.

Sharon 4, Oliver Ames 1: Hannah Farber earned OA’s lone point at first singles.

BOYS TENNIS

Duxbury 4, Hingham 1: The visiting Dragons swept the singles with Tim Vargas, Colby Hall and Peter Burnham. At first doubles, Peter Evans and Bennett Stout rallied for a 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 win.

Norwell 3, Middleboro 2: Evan Pettit (No. 1) and Aidan Gilmartin (No. 2) won in singles, and the Clippers prevailed at first doubles with the team of Matt Alabiso/Ben Garland. For Middleboro, Alden Birkett won at third singles, and the team of Dylan Russell/Trevor Frankian won at second doubles.

Whitman-Hanson 4, Quincy 1: Brady Wright (No. 1) and Mateo Santalucia (No. 2) won in singles for the Panthers (4-9), who also swept the doubles with the teams of Zach Lindsay/Tristan Baker (No. 1) and Drew Fountain/George Dykens (No. 2).

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

North Quincy 3, Greater New Bedford Voke 1: The Raiders (14-2) won on the road.
