BASEBALL

Division I

La Salle 4, Lincoln 0

The Rams' Matt Destefanis pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing only 3 hits while striking out 3 in La Salle's victory over Lincoln. Caden Calabro drove in 2 runs in the win and Brady Collins and Manny Oliver Reyes each had an RBI.

Smithfield 9, Mt. Hope 4

Michael Villandry and Dominic Bellini each had 2 hits and 2 RBI and Jacob Hopkins had 3 hits and scored a run as the Sentinels pushed past the Huskies. Jackson Chamberlain picked up the win as he went 6 innings, allowed only 3 runs and struck out 6.

Division III

West Warwick 5, Toll Gate 2

Logan Dean had 2 hits and drove in the run and Leyton Belanger and Zachary Lawrence each had an RBI in the Wizards victory of The Titans. Shane Moro and Dylan Perreault each drove in a run for TG in the loss.

SOFTBALL

Division I

Pilgrim 7, Cranston West 1

Skylar Hawes and Genna D'Amato helped power the offense as the Patriots knocked off the Falcons in Division I. Hawes doubled, homered to deep center and drove in three while matching D'Amato with a pair of runs scored. Pilgrim improved to 6-4 while Cranston West dropped to 6-3.

Division II

Johnston 2, Scituate 1

Arianna Velasquez singled to right, knocking in Mariah Fleury for the game-winner in the 8th, as the Panthers (5-1) prevailed in extra innings. Trailing 1-0 in the 4th, Lexi DiLorenzo doubled and later scored on Bella Boudreau's sac fly to center to tie the score. Kate Nickerson (4-2) had given Scituate the lead with a solo homer in the first — the only hit Johnston pitcher Haley Boudreau gave up, recording 18 strikeouts in the winning effort. Nickerson, Scituate’s pitcher, also struck out 18, and scattered 5 hits in the loss.

Westerly 4, Lincoln/North Providence 3

Sophia Valentini struck out 8 while tossing a 5-hitter and supported her own cause with 3 hits and an RBI, and Isabella MazzareseTori Gabriele and Isabella Austin each drove in a run as the Bulldogs scored in the top of the seventh inning and held off a determined North Providence team. After Westerly scored single runs in the first three innings, Lincoln/North Providence battled back with two runs in the fourth and one in the sixth to tie it. Only one run was earned — that coming on a home run by Makenna Heon.  Westerly is now 9-0 and atop the division; L/NP slips to 3-4.

Ponaganset 2, West Warwick 0

Chloe Barber pitched a complete game, striking out 11 and giving up just 2 hits and one walk for the Chieftains. Ava Difiore had two hits including inside the park homerun. Ponaganset improves to 7-0 in league play, while the Wizards fall to 6-3.

BOYS LACROSSE

Division I

Portsmouth 7, Hendricken 6 (2OT)

With the game tied a 6-6 in the second overtime, Shane Temple scored one of his 3 goals and the Patriots came away with a victory over the Hawks. Will Howard and Indy Pacheco scored 2 goals each in the win. For the Hawks, Ben Selle had 3 goals and KJ Lough added 2 more.

Division II

Pilgrim 20, Middletown 9

The Patriots' Dylan Rodrigues dominated the faceoffs with 14 wins. Ryan Barlow and Braxton Bragg combined for 10 goals (5 each) and Barlow had 4 assists. Brett Taylor added 4 goals as well. The Islanders were led by Griffin Kleinknecht with 3 goals, Matty O'Hagan with 1 goal and 3 assists, Grayson Hawkins had 2 goals and 2 assists. Pilgrim improves to 6-3; Middletown slips to 2-7.

Cranston West 7, Chariho 4

Jack Majcher and Charlie Maguire each netted a pair of goals (Majcher had 3 assists, as well) as the Falcons handled the Chargers in this Div. II contest. For Chariho, Jackson Hernandez and Owen Gillis each scored 2 goals in the loss. West improves to 6-2, while Chariho slips to 3-6.

Nonleague

Stonington 9, Westerly 4

Ethan Mahoney and Nathan Mahoney combined to score 5 goals and each had an assist in Stonington's victory over Westerly. Caleb Williams, Alex Luzzi, Eric Fusaro and Matt Horton each scored goals for the Bulldogs in the loss.

Division IV

Lincoln 14, Classical 1

GIRLS LACROSSE

Division I

La Salle 18, Prout 8

Lily Peters paced the Rams with 6 goals and 2 assists, Maddi Goodwin recording 4 goals, including netting her 100th career goa, and Ella Grace had a goal and 4 assists in the win. For the Crusaders, Ella Martin had 4 goals and Lizzie Hill added 3. With the win, La Salle moves to 6-2 on the season, while Prout falls to 4-3.

East Greenwich 13, Barrington 11

Tessa Charello-Ingegneri scored a game-high 7 goals, Lindsey Rowe added 2 more and Julia Moorw and Maeve Kiernan each scored one in the Avengers' victory. For the Eagles, Anna Lombardi had 3 goals and 5 assists, Katie McAdams made 12 saves in the loss.

Division III

Narragansett, 6, Bay View 5

Natalia Salvadore recorded a hat trick, Julianne Harris had a pair of goals and Eris Hughes netted the other one as the Mariners won their seventh straight victory to improve to 7-1. The Bengals got a pair of goals from Maggie Lima and Annabell Tracy and Giana Giordano had a single tally. Bay View falls to 3-3.

Division IV

North Smithfield 12, Coventry 1

Division I

Cranston East 3, La Salle 0

Larry Yin had 13 digs, Charles Pincince had 10 kills and Carlos Lora added 8 kills in the Thunderbolts win, 25-22 25-15 25-20. With the win, East improves to 8-2 in league play, LSA falls to 6-2.

Hendricken 3, Chariho 1

Kody Poplaski had 26 assists and 2 aces and Landon Marland had 13 kills for the Hawks. Jaxson Vachon added 22 digs and 1 ace in the win,  25-16, 25-12, 22-25, 25-18.

North Smithfield 3, Classical 2

North Smithfield's Carter Deslauriers had 20 kills, Connor DeSousa had 15 kills and Ben Sousa had 10 digs in the win (22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 19-25, 15-12). For the Purple, James Men had 44 assists and 2 aces and Teddy Wallace recorded 18 kills.

Division III

Central Falls 3, Hope 0

Solid outings by Jamilson Depina Almeida (14 kills, 9 aces) and Keando Pinto (5 aces, 4 kills) paved the way for the Warriors win over the Blue Wave, 25-10, 25-5, 25-15.

Cranston West 3, Woonsocket 0

Chris Harvey led the Falcons with 10 kills, 6 digs and an assist, Ashton Mak  recorded 4 aces and 25 assists in the win, 25-19, 25-14,  27-25. West keeps its perfect record in tact (8-0), while the Novans fall to 2-6.

Johnston 3, Burrillville 0
