High School Roundup: Scores and recaps from soccer, volleyball and tennis on Tuesday

BOYS SOCCER

Division II

Westerly 4, Burrillville 0

Robbie Wade got the Bulldogs on the board in the first half on a pass from Drew Albamonti. He scored again in the second half on a header, deflecting a feed from Max Celico. Nick Souder scored 6 minutes later and Alex Luzzi finished it off with another goal. Westerly goalie Chase Wycall had 2 saves.

North Smithfield 3, East Greenwich 0

Aidan Bienvenue, Sam Drolet and Josh Neves scored to lift the Northmen over the Avengers and remain unbeaten in Division II. Andrew Norwood, Carter Deslauriers and Neves each recorded assists. North Smithfield goalie Wyatt Letizia had 6 saves; East Greenwich's keeper made 11 stops.

Chariho 5, Hope 1

Kody Poplaski had 3 goals, Brandon Knowles had a goal and a pair of assists and Christian Resinger also scored for the Chargers as well as they handled the Blue Wave in Div. II action.

Division III

St. Raphael 3, North Providence 2

The Saints took a 3-0 early lead over the Cougars in the second half but had to hold on to escape with the win. Angel Sanchez and Mike Frausto scored first-half goals for St. Raphael and in the second half, Adrian Diaz scored a goal in to extend the lead to 3-0. Later in the half, Bryann Vera scored twice for North Providence to cut the lead to one, but that would be the how game would end. SR netminder Julian Diaz had 9 saves, including one on a penalty kick in the second frame to preserve the win. Cougars' goalie Giovanni Ospina had 10 saves.

Division IV

Mt. Pleasant 7, Times2/Juanita Sanchez/Paul Cuffee/St. Pats 1

Roodley Darius finished with 2 goals and 3 assists and Moises Austin had 3 goals and one assist as the Kilties cruised to victory and improved their record to 6-1-3. T2/JS/PC/SP falls to 1-6-1.

GIRLS SOCCER

Division I

Mt. Hope 3, East Greenwich 1

After a scoreless first half, the Huskies broke out for 3 second-half goals to push their record to 6-2-3 on the season. Goal scorers were Thea Jackson, Caitlyn Terceiro and Sara Nencka. Mt. Hope's Hannah Rezendes had an assist. The Avengers' Eliabeth Low scored her team's lone goal. In net, Emily Moran recorded 4 saves for Mt. Hope; Elizabeth Johnson had 12 for EG.

Division II

Portsmouth 2, Middletown 0

Mollyana McGuire scored two goals and that is all the Patriots would need in its win over neighboring Middletown. Claire Hook had an assist on one of McGuire's tallies. Portsmouth is now 6-1-0 while the Islanders fall to 1-4-3,

Division IV

Rogers 2, Davies 0

Rogers' Fallon Bagley scored two goals and teammate Katie Guinan was outstanding in net as she collected 17 saves, including one on a penalty kick, as the Vikings blanked the Patriots. Makayla O'Loughlin assisted on one of Bagley's tallies.

Tiverton 4, St. Raphael 3

After trailing 3-0 in sets, the Tigers swept the next three sets and were awarded 3rd doubles due to a forfeit. Courtnie Smith's 3-set victory at No. 4 singles put Tiverton on a roll leading to the team's first victory of the season.

Coventry 3, South Kingstown 0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-20); JV - SK, 2-0

The Oakers' Olivia Rollinson led the way with 14 kills, 2 blocks and 2 aces; Abby Spadoni had 8 Kills, 3 blocks, 4 aces and 18 digs and Addison Patrick recorded 3 kills and 5 blocks to push Coventry's record to 8-3. For the Rebels, Karmen Lambert had 8 kills and 4 aces and Ally Toutti had 9 kills.

Chariho 3, Portsmouth 2 (25-22, 22-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-9) 

In hard-fought match between two powerful teams, the Chargers held on and improved to 8-2. Lexi Cole led the way with 3 aces, 5 kills, 3 blocks, 15 digs and 39 assists; Emma Kocab had a pair of aces, 25 digs and 3 assists, and Katja Nelson had 2 aces, 6 kills and 4 blocks. The Patriots' Avery Pelletier recorded a game-best 21 kills, 1 ace and 11 digs, Mila Abedon added 16 digs and Caitlin Mediate had 14 digs and 44 assists in the loss.

Classical 3, West Warwick 0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-13)

Harmony Forrest swung for 10 kills, Deana Baez chipped in with 25 assists and 3 kills and Dorie Chatto had 11 kills and 3 aces, propelling the Purple to the I-crossover victory. The Wizards were led by Kristina Sarlo, who had 9 digs, Emily Camara, who had 11 assists, and Liz Gresian, who had 5 digs and 4 kills. The win brings Classical to 5-6-0 while West Warwick falls to 1-11-0.

North Kingstown 3, East Greenwich 0 (25-17, 25-16, 26-24). JV - NK, 2-0.

Tessa Lafrenier led the way for the Skippers with 11 kills, 3 digs and 5 aces to help push NK's record to 10-1 on the season. For the Avengers, Hannah Gaffney had 15 digs and Gabi Jackson recorded 7 kills in the loss.

Prout 3, Cranston East 0 (25-13, 28-26, 25-19); JV 2-0.

Jett Cronin accounted for 3 aces and 16 digs,  Alice McGuire chipped in with 7 kills, 2 blocks and 2 digs and Paige Megley had 5 kills and 3 blocks and the Crusaders won in a sweep in the D-I crossover match. Brynn Murphy had 4 aces, 3 kills and 2 digs and Jessica Tran helped with 11 digs for the Thunderbolts, now 0-11-0. Prout is 3-8-0.

Mount St. Charles 3, LaSalle 1 (25-19, 14-25, 25-23, 25-15)

The Mounties' Sophia Baeta had 2 aces and 16 digs, Mazie Phillips had 3 aces, 6 kills and 11 digs and Maggie Ray recorded 4 kills and 10 digs. For the Rams, Kaelyn Whitaker had 14 kills and Abby McCrowley had 11 assists, 7 aces and 1 kill.

Division II

Middletown 3, Barrington 1 (23-25,25-21,25-22,25-21); JV - B, 2-0

The Islanders' Skylar Schuster had 7 kills, Aidan Reilly had 7 kills and 3 aces and Gianna Piker also had 7 kills in Middletown's Div. II win. For the Eagles, Tess Egge had 12 digs and 4 aces in the loss.

Lincoln 3, Ponaganset 0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-23)

Casey Weaver had 15 kills, 2 aces and 1 block and Breanne Bouthilletle recorded 3 aces, 18 digs and a 1 block as the Lions swept the Chieftains and improved to 4-4-0. For Ponaganset, Ava DiFiore posted 11 assists, 1 kill, 2 aces and Kait Campbell recorded 2 kills, 2 Aces and 1 block in the loss.

Cranston West 3, Rogers 0 (25-21, 25-7, 25-13)

Brooke Menna (8 kills, 2 aces) and Florah Small (6 aces, 2 digs) combined to lead the Falcons, now 4-6-0, to victory. The Vikings remain winless at 0-10-0.

Westerly 3, St. Raphael 0

For Westerly, Emma Caracciolo recorded a career-high 12 aces in the Div. II victory. Lyla Auth had 6 kills, 6 aces, and 15 assists. For the Saints, Eriana Blanco had 12 digs and Sadie Lallier had 6 kills in the loss.

Bay View 3, Exeter/W. Greenwich 1 (25-27, 25-20, 26-24, 25-23)

The Scarlet Knights jumped out to an early lead, but the Bengals roared back and won the final three games for the victory in a hard-fought match.  Bay View was led by Ella Rwenzo (16 kills, 3 blocks, 3 aces) and Avery Gomes (17 kills, 1 block, 1 ace). They were nearly matched by Erin Tierney (10 kills, 2 assists, 4 digs) and Hannah Pearson (9 kills, 4 blocks). The win gives Bay View a 6-4-0 record; EWG is 4-7-0.

East Providence 3, Pilgrim 1 (25-11, 23-25, 25-15, 25-6).

Division III

Tiverton 3, Woonsocket 1 (23-25, 25-22, 29-27, 25-11)

For the Tigers, Julia Polofsky had 13 aces, 9 kills and 9 digs, Claudia Lapointe recorded 4 aces, 8 kills and 5 digs and Eilish Condon had 5 aces, 1 kill and 16 assists. For the Villanovans, Morgan Marcou had 4 aces and 17 digs and Azalea Mueller had 5 kills, 5 aces and 20 digs in the loss.

Scituate 3, Central Falls 0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-14); JV - CF, 2-0

Division  IV

Mount Pleasant 3, Achievement First 0

Aliyah DaCosta finished with 7 kills and 7 aces as she led the Kilties to the sweep. Mount Pleasant is now 7-2-0 while Achievement First falls to 0-8.
