HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Barnstable boys tennis locks up state tournament spot

In 2022, the Barnstable High School boys tennis team missed the state tournament by decimal points.

That won't be the case this spring. After missing out on the postseason last spring by being the No. 33 seed (the top 32 schools qualify plus all programs that finish .500 or better), the Red Hawks already locked up a postseason mark with a 5-0 win over Brockton on Monday.

Barnstable (9-3) locked up its clinching victory behind 6-0, 6-0 sweeps at first singles (Kyler Medeiros), second singles (Alex Arabadzhiev) and second doubles (Thomas Berger/Mike Higginbotham).

Brennan Riley won at third singles while Connor O'Reilly/Andy Coombs took first singles.
