MIAA Super Bowl coverage: Catch up on highlights from all 8 high school football finals

Gillette Stadium, here we come.

The home of the New England Patriots will host the MIAA high school football state championships this week. We'll have live updates from all eight games.

The South Shore is invading Foxboro, sending six area teams to compete in five different state finals. Duxbury and Scituate will meet in a rematch of the 2021 Division 4 final. Top-seeded Hanover will be the 'road' team against Foxboro in the Div. 5 final.

Carver is trying to make program history in Div. 8, while Marshfield is looking to pull off another upset in Div. 2. Milton is back at Gillette after losing in last year's Div. 3 final.

How the scoring chance came about: Foxboro's Shane Henri comes up with an interception to give the Warriors' offense quality field position at the Hanover 25, but after a Warriors turnover-on-downs deep in the redzone, they will resume at the 6 as Hanover surrenders a fumble to Foxboro's Trevor Palmer.

Foxboro junior quarterback Mike Marcucella connects Ryan Foley over the top for a 41-yard TD pass, and the sophomore wide receiver survives a hard hit at the very end of the play to get into the end zone standing. PAT from Owen Hayes is good.

Hanover quarterback Ben Scalzi hits senior John McDonald for a short completion, and McDonald weaves through a pack of Foxboro defenders to win a footrace to the end zone for a 66-yard TD. McDonald's PAT is good.

In the final game here at Gillette Stadium, the Hawks are vying for their first state title since 2016, and second since 1976. Foxboro comes into play in search of its first title since 2006. We are 25 minutes away from the opening kick.

Led by Alex Barlow's five TDs, the Dragons claim their second consecutive state crown and avenge the Sailors' 2021 Super Bowl victory with a record-breaking finish Friday night.

Barlow runs in for a 35-yard TD, his fifth score tonight. Duxbury becomes the highest-scoring team in Super Bowl history, breaking a record that stood since 1997 (Springfield Central def. Shrewsbury, 55-14).
