Why it’s tasty: This is for the District 7-2A Division I title with both teams likely to win it outright based on who remains on each schedule. … This is the 18th consecutive season Seymour and Windthorst have played. City View could create a logjam at the top of the district should it upset the Eagles with a potential three-way tie including Henrietta. … Both teams are coming off offensive explosions last week with Holliday scoring 62 points and City View posting 73. Holliday’s shutout of S&S Consolidated was its fourth in the past six weeks. … City View quarterback Jacobe Monroe and his Holliday counterpart Grant Cox have very similar passing stats for the season. The Raiders have not won a district title since 2008. … Plainview’s loss to Abilene Cooper last week puts the Bulldogs in danger of missing the postseason for the sixth consecutive season. The Bulldogs have two district championships in the 60-season history of the program. They have made the playoffs in three consecutive seasons after having never qualified for the postseason in back-to-back seasons prior to this streak. … Jacksboro hasn’t won a district title since 2019. The Tigers are also two wins away from finishing the regular season undefeated for the first time since 2003. … Millsap probably doesn’t want to get into a shootout with Jacksboro considering the Bulldogs average 27 points a game. They surrender 24 points a game. … Jacksboro is averaging 47.9 points a game, a number helped greatly by the 78 points the Tigers scored last week.
