The high school football season rolled into the critical Week 8 across Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. Key matchups on the schedule include Columbia's visit to Alan Powers Field in Middleburg, with the winner likely to wrap up District 3-3S; a Yulee-Baker County game in Macclenny that should likewise determine the championship in District 5-2S; an all-St. Johns County matchup in District 4-4S between district leader Ponte Vedra and rising Tocoi Creek; and the latest edition of the 96-year-old rivalry between Jackson and Riverside in Gateway Conference action.
