High school baseball: Vote for the Varsity 845 player of the week (May 6-12)

Online voting for the Varsity 845 baseball player of the week for May 6-12 is now open. Go to RecordOnline.com/sports and vote as often as you like until 11 p.m. on Sunday (no computer bot voting, please).

Nominations are pulled from reports to Varsity 845 and other sources. Players from Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties, plus Delaware Valley (Pa.) are eligible. One player per school is permitted during each week.

The winner will be announced via X / Twitter @Varsity845. Previous winners can become eligible again once the postseason has begun. He tossed a three-hitter, fanning seven, as the Ganders beat O’Neill 10-0 on Tuesday.

Logan Hart, Kingston

He had a double, three singles and RBI for the Tigers in a 7-2 win over Middletown on Wednesday.

Liam Hayes, Monroe-Woodbury

He had four hits to lift the Crusaders past Marlboro 9-5 on Monday.

Noel Irizarry, Goshen

He tossed a two-hit shutout as the Gladiators beat Minisink Valley 10-0 on Thursday.

Jack Maiale, New Paltz

He tossed a two-hitter, striking out 11, and added a single, double and RBI as the Huguenots beat Spackenkill 6-0 on Tuesday.

Joseph Olenick, Port Jervis

He had three singles and an RBI as Port topped Beacon 6-3 on Wednesday.

McCoy Rothe, Saugerties

He had three hits and an RBI as the Sawyers beat Christian Brothers Academy 5-3 on Saturday.

Alex Sanchez, Middletown

He had two singles, three RBI and got the mound win as the Bears blanked Kingston 14-0 on Friday.

Owen Schlagler, Marlboro

He had four hits and five RBI as the Dukes beat Wallkill 24-14 in a MHAL semifinal on Saturday.

He hit a homer, single and drove in three runs as the Panthers nipped Chester 5-4 on Tuesday.

Robert Berkeley, Chester

He allowed one hit, struck out 10 and added three singles and an RBI as the Hambletonians routed Fallsburg 16-1 on Tuesday.

Dylan DeMaro, Burke Catholic

He had three singles and three RBI as the Eagles beat Tri-Valley 9-1 on Wednesday. He added three hits in a 13-0 win over Seward on Saturday.

Thomas McGuinness, O’Neill

He had a hit and two RBI in the Raiders’ 13-3 loss to Chester on Thursday.

David Phillips, Liberty

He struck out eight and added two hits as Liberty beat Sullivan West 6-4 on Wednesday.
