Here's how to bet on NY Giants vs. New England Patriots game on spread, total & moneyline

The Giants (3-8, last in NFC East) welcome the New England Patriots (2-8, last in AFC East) on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.

This features a matchup of two of the most underwhelming teams so far this season, a far cry from when they met in Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI now over a decade ago.

While the Patriots had a bye in Week 10, the Giants are coming off one of the best performances of the week after they upset the Commanders, 31-19, Sunday at FedEx Field.

Here's our betting advice on the spread, total and moneyline for the Giants vs. Patriots this weekend:

Giants vs. Patriots spread: Giants +3.5 (-115), Patriots -3 (-113)

October 29, 2023; East Rutherford, NJ, USA; New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito (15) played in his first game for Big Blue.

Even with their win in Washington, the Giants still find themselves as a field goal underdog or higher depending what sportsbook you're looking at.

With DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbook you have to pay the price and take the 3.5 points with the G-Men here.

Regardless of which team ended up being favored, there's no reason either should be a field goal favorite of higher given their consistent performance over the 2023.

The Patriots are just 2-8 against the spread (ATS), and the Giants have not covered in seven of 11 games this season.

Yes, the Giants will almost certainly not score 30+ points again, but to be able to bet them as at least a field goal underdog at home versus this Patriots is way too valuable to pass for the Week 12 slate.

I'm sure it may get ugly at times, but bet on the Giants to cover for a second straight week.

Prediction: Giants +3.5 (-115)

Giants vs. Patriots total: Over 33.5 points (-110), Under 34 points (-110)

October 29, 2023; East Rutherford, NJ, USA; New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (26) tries to move around the New York Jets offense.

What shouldn't come as a surprise is this total being the lowest of the entire week as sits with a high of a measly 34 points.

The Giants and Patriots have combined to go below the under in a given matchup 15 of 21 times this season, good for 71 percent of the time.

These are the only two teams in the NFL that enter Week 12 averaging below 15 points per game (Patriots: 14.1 PPG, Giants 13.5 PPG).

While a defensive or special teams score could cause this one to hit the over, I don't expect that to happen multiple times, which keeps this total under 34 points thanks to two inept offenses.

Prediction: Under 34 points (-110)

Giants vs. Patriots moneyline: Giants +150 (Odds via PointsBet), Patriots -160 (Odds via Caesars)

With all 32 teams in action this week, there's a solid chance this is ugliest, low-scoring game on the board this weekend.

However, just like with the spread, the wrong team is favored here.

I know the Giants haven't given fans much to cheer about in 2023, but last week's performance has to inspire some type of confidence at home against a lackluster New England team.

Regardless of who's under center for the Patriots, there's no way they should be favored, especially on the road after what transpired in Frankfurt, Germany, in Week 9.

This one will undoubtedly be close with neither offense having the firepower to pull away. With that being said, I'm taking the Giants to not only cover the spread, but win outright as an underdog in the Meadowlands this week.

Prediction: Giants 17, Patriots 14
