Seven different players scored goals as Rogers defeated the Cranston East/Johnston/North Providence co-op squad 22-3 on Friday at Braga Park to clinch at least a tie for the Division-IV regular-season championship.

The Vikings (12-0) play Lincoln (10-2) and Tiverton (9-3) in their final two regular-season games and a win over one of those teams will give Rogers the outright championship. If Lincoln wins its last two games and Rogers loses both, the teams will share the crown. Hole-Young scored five goals and Rivera netted three goals and assisted on three others in Friday’s victory.

Evan Agren and Jacob Mello, Middletown baseball

Freshman starting pitcher Agren worked into the sixth inning as the Islanders won their fourth straight with a 7-2 verdict over Tiverton on Friday.

Potvin had another single in the sixth inning to account for half of Tiverton’s hits. The Tigers dropped their fourth decision in their last five games and slid to 6-7 in Division-II.
