Hebbronville's Alegria voted Driscoll Children's Hospital High School Athlete of the Week

Hebbronville softball player Alexia Alegria has been voted the Driscoll Children's Hospital Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week for April 22-27.

Alegria dominated at the plate for the Longhorns by going 7 for 7 with eight RBIs, including two home runs and three doubles in a sweep against Mathis.

Alegria received 23,693 of the 70,301 votes cast, which was 33.64% of total votes.

Veterans Memorial baseball player Julian Colsa was second with 19,107 votes.

Students can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport, and athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.

Nominations are due each Monday by 5 p.m. and can be submitted through email at ctsports@caller.com, by messaging the Caller-Times through its Facebook page, or on Twitter @CallerSports.

Voting runs Tuesday through Thursday each week.
