Hamlin native Kami Wadsworth selected as the freshman of the year in NSIC women's basketball
University of Sioux Falls freshman Kami Wadsworth of Hayti and four Northern State University players earned All-Northern Sun Collegiate Conference women's and men's basketball honors on Thursday.
Madelyn Bragg and Rianna Fillipi (women) and Jacksen Moni and Josh Dilling (men) each earned all-league honors for Northern State's teams.
Here are the area honorees:
Kami Wadsworth, Sioux Falls
Wadsorth, a 5-foot-11 forward, not only earned All-NSIC second team honors but also was selected as the conference's freshman of the year.
Wadsworth started all 22 confrence games and averaged 14.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. She led all of the league's freshmen in scoring, had five games of 20 or more points and shot 44.2 percent from thefield, 24.1 from 3-point range and 82.6 from the free-throw line.
Madelyn Bragg, Northern State
Bragg, a 6-3 sophomore center and former Aberdeen Roncalli standout, earned All-NSIC women's first team honors.
She is averaging 17.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season.
Rianna Fillipi, Northern State
The 5-8 senior point guard also made the All-NSIC women's first team.
She is averaging 12.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this season.

Jacksen Moni, Northern State
The 6-10 junior forward from Fargo (N.D.) earned All-NSIC men's first team honors.
He is averaging 21.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.
Josh Dilling, Northern State
The 6-4 senior guard from Oshkosh (Wis.) earned second-team All-NSIC men's honors.
He is averaging 18.7 poinits and 4.5 rebounds per game.
