Guntersville girls basketball coach Kenny Hill crosses 100-win mark in just under four seasons

Guntersville head girls basketball coach Kenny Hill hit 100 wins as the coach of the Wildcats, his fourth season at the school.

The clinching victory happened last week with a triumph over county rival Boaz on Tuesday. It is the second time that Hill has crossed the 100-win mark at a school. He also crossed the mark as head coach of the boys program at Scottsboro, his previous stop before switching sports and moving down the mountain and to the other side of the lake.

"Its just a testament to the programs that I have been a part of, the players I have been able to coach" Hill told the Gadsden Times after a 50-38 loss to Gadsden City on Monday. "... This second time around was something that I never imagined would happened. Its just a blessing to coach really good players, we have had some really good teams."

This time around it only took just under four season for Hill to cross the centennial mark, but that's helped by a 30-win state championship season in 2021-22 and 29-win season last year. This year the Wildcats are 18-9 after battling through injuries. They have one game left with Madison Academy before starting the postseason with Arab in the first round of their area tournament at Scottsboro.
