Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 1 game

Let the Jordan Love era with the Green Bay Packers begin against their fiercest rival: the Chicago Bears.

Green Bay will begin life without Aaron Rodgers. Love, the 2020 first-round pick, leads a team with a two-headed monster at running back with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Love will also have young receivers around him, led by rookie sensation Christian Watson.

Even with the worst record in the NFL last season, there's optimism in Chicago thanks to the stellar play of Justin Fields last season. The front office decided to invest in its offense by improving its offensive line by drafting Darnell Wright with the 10th overall pick and giving Fields weapons, such as trading for receiver DJ Moore.

With Rodgers gone, will the Packers be able to remain relevant in the NFC North, or will Chicago turn the page and make a playoff push?

Lorenzo Reyes: Packers 24, Bears 20

This is essentially a toss up and, while I think Chicago will be better this season, I need to see some evidence before backing them against a team that has controlled the division — despite its transition. I expect Matt LaFleur to put Jordan Love in position to make plays.

Tyler Dragon: Bears 23, Packers 20

Let the Jordan Love era begin. Word out of Green Bay is Love is ready to take the reins. The Bears are determined to show the Packers they are no longer their little brother in the NFC North in front of the Soldier Field crowd.

Victoria Hernandez: Packers 17, Bears 14

This is one game I wouldn't bet on unless you really wanted to. It's just too close to call. But since we are writing these, the Packers have a history of beating the Bears and they have a bit to prove, too.

Jordan Mendoza: Packers 22, Bears 19

This game could go either way and it'll be tough to predict, but Jordan Love does just enough to get the win in the post-Rodgers era. The Bears upgraded their offense, but Green Bay's defense is the X-factor in preventing Justin Fields from taking over.
