GRANVILLE ― Granville's eighth grade football team went 8-0 in 2023 and won its first Licking County League championship since 2018.

The Blue Aces outscored opponents 226-48, including three shutouts, and nine different players scored touchdowns.

They beat Licking Heights 24-12, Johnstown 28-8, Whitehall 28-12, Heath 20-0, Zanesville 48-0, Utica 33-0, Licking Valley 12-6 and Watkins Memorial 33-8.

Team captains were Connor Kirby, Parker Costa, Auggie Housteau and Garrett Hannahs.

Other players were Michael Evans, Braden Fleming, Evan Seifert, Nolan White, Wyatt Smtih, Dane McShane, Max Miller, Ethan Hall, Cohen Fisher, John Campbell, Brendan Schirf, Gavin Guilfu, Jack Vilvens Isiah Giovara, Raiden Morris, Henry Geiger, Garrett Hinton, Luke Priano, George Walter, Espen Reed, Gareth Larson, Wyatt Severyn, Jack Koklich, Maddox Kempf, Joel Kaminicki, Liam Knuth, Sabien Guerin and Noah England.

Coaches were Bobby Vahalik (head coach/defensive coordinator), Alan Varrasso (offensive coordinator), Chuck McShane, Cole Susac, Brian Costa, Tim Thompson, Steve Schehl and Luke Gibson.
