Gophers' top recruit Trey Bixby coming home to play for Eden Prairie

Aug. 24—Trey Bixby, a four-star defensive end in the Gophers' 2022 recruiting class, is planning to attend and play football at Eden Prairie High School.

Bixby was at Eagles' practice Monday and is seeking approval from the Minnesota State High School League, his father Kyle Goblirsch confirmed to the Pioneer Press on Monday night.

Bixby, who is listed at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, grew up in Minnesota before two-year stints in Arizona and Wisconsin. He then moved to Lakewood, Ohio, where he played for St. Edwards High School near Cleveland. Bixby was the first player in the U's 2022 class. He picked Minnesota over Penn State, Michigan State and others.
