'All good': Colts QB Gardner Minshew pushes back on concussion speculation

CINCINNATI — Gardner Minshew does not believe he stumbled after his first scramble of the day, a play that prompted onlookers to question whether the Colts quarterback should have been evaluated for a concussion.

Minshew was not evaluated for a concussion at any point during the team’s loss to Cincinnati on Sunday, according to Colts head coach Shane Steichen.

On the play, Minshew was grabbed from behind by Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt, and as he was pulled down, his head came down and he was hit by another Cincinnati linebacker Logan Wilson.

Minshew rolled over, got up to one knee, then briefly put his hands on the ground and got up, then ran back to the huddle. The clip prompted speculation online that he’d suffered an injury.

The Colts quarterback pushed back on the concussion speculation.

“I don’t know if I did stumble,” Minshew said. “Maybe I did. I think that other guy might have stumbled, too, but I felt good for getting hit by two dudes.”

Minshew did acknowledge that getting sandwiched between two NFL linebackers does not feel great.

“It’s not ideal,” Minshew said. “But (I’m) all good.”
