Golf Roundup: RV Girls fifth at Lady Bears Invite
WEST LAFAYETTE − Chloey Geog shot a personal best 93 to lead River View, which totaled 389 to place fifth at its own River View Lady Bear Invite on Wednesday at Hickory Flats Golf Course.
Geog also made the All-tournament second team, while Caily Shriver chipped in a 95, Paige Nicely shot 98 and Kortnee Mickle had a personal best 103 for the Lady Bears.
Garaway won the team title with 318, and Dover needed a fifth-score tiebreaker to edge John Glenn for second, as both had 359. Sheridan was fourth with 367.
The first Team All Tournament featured Garaway's Sammi Miller, who was medalist with 76, Brooklyn Numbers (77), Hannah Steiner (82) and Sydni Prysi (83), John Glenn's Addy Burris (78) and Abby McCullough (85), Dover's Riley Schie (78), Sheridan's Morgan Wamer and Tri-Valley's Makayla Hutchison (83).
The Lady Bears were eighth with 389 in Tuesday's Pre-Season Tri-County Meet at Pleasant View, as Nicely carded a 91, Geog a 94, Shriver a 100 and Mickle a 104.
River View was third in Monday's MVL Preseason Meet at Jaycees, as Shriver and Geog had 97s, Nicely added a 98 and Mickle had 106. The Lady Bears totaled 399 to finish behind John Glenn (368) and Sheridan (394).
Ridgewood boys fourth at New Phila Invite: Benny Shuck carded a 95, as the Generals totaled 417 to take fourth in the New Philadelphia Invitational.
Zach Evin carded a 97, Cooper King shot 106 and Blaine Hostetler finished with 119 to round out the Generals' scoring. Conrad Robinson also had 124 and Wade Thompson had 142.
River View JH 147, Cambridge 267: Colton and Gavin Gress shared medalist honors with 32s, as the Black Bears won on Tuesday in a dual at Hickory Flats.
Brynn Harstine shot 40 and Clark Frischen added a 43 to round out River View's scoring, while Taylor Harstine also had a 46.
Women's Golf at Hickory Flats: The Hickory Flats Tuesday Evening Ladies played for Low Net, as the A-flight winner was Linda Miller and B-flight was Betty Fender. Low scores were Linda Miller 45; Connie Lahna 46; Sherry Kirkpatrick 48; Sue Patterson and Janet McIntyre 49.
