Girls basketball: There are nine candidates for the Varsity 845 player of the week

Online voting for the Varsity 845 girls basketball player of the week for Jan. 15-21 is now open. Go to RecordOnline.com/sports and vote as often as you like until 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27 (no computer bot voting, please).

Nominations are pulled from reports to Varsity 845 and other sources. Players from Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties are eligible. One player per school is permitted during each week. The first three winners were Zoe Mesuch of Wallkill, Amiah Neails of Monticello and Sam Calahan of Highland.

The winner will be announced via X / Twitter @Varsity845. Previous winners can become eligible again once the postseason has begun.

Chloe Ahorrio, Monroe-Woodbury

She scored 14 points to lift the Crusaders to a 56-16 win over Washingtonville on Jan. 20.

T.T. Burden, Newburgh

She scored 19 points in the Goldbacks’ 63-44 setback to Kingston on Jan. 18.

Mia Dominques, Wallkill

Her six 3-point field goals highlighted an 18-point night as the Panthers beat Rondout Valley 67-27 on Jan. 18.

She tallied 15 points as the Bears beat S.S. Seward 50-30 on Jan. 17.

Anna Figueroa, Port Jervis

She tallied 22 points as Port beat Liberty 36-31 on Jan. 18.

Reese Girardi, Warwick

She posted 15 points as the Wildcats topped Washingtonville 77-19 on Jan. 18.

She scored 14 of her 21 points in the final quarter as the Vikings beat Minisink Valley 36-34 on Jan. 18.

Asia Lebon, Kingston

She tallied 19 points as the Tigers beat Newburgh 63-44 on Jan. 18. Two nights earlier, she scored 16 in a 48-34 win over Roosevelt.
