Giants’ Brian Daboll wins 2022 NFL Coach of the Year over Bills’ Sean McDermott

Former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll took home some more coaching hardware.

Daboll was hired by the New York Giants last offseason as their head coach. One year into his job and he earned the NFL’s highest honor for coaching.

At the 2022 NFL Awards, Daboll was named the Coach of the Year.

That comes after Daboll earned the NFL’s Assistant Coach of the Year with the Bills.

Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott was amongst the early nominees for the award, however, he did not make the cut for the final three. McDermott finished in fourth place.

Prior to Daboll’s arrival, New York had lost double-digit games every season from 2017 until 2022. They finished 9-7-1 and third in the NFC East, earning a Wild Card spot this past year.

Daboll and the Giants also downed the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild-Card round of the playoffs.
