Giants’ Andrew Thomas named to CBS Sports’ All Under 25 Offensive Second Team

New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas is entering his third season in the NFL. Like several other players on the team, this is a crucial year for Thomas. There’s one year left on his rookie contract after 2022, so he has to start proving himself now.

Recently, Thomas was named to CBS Sports’ All Under 25 Offensive Second Team (boy, that’s a mouthful).

The CBS teams recognize top talent in the NFL under the age of 25 at the start of the 2022 season. Thomas is just 23 years old and has played in 29 NFL games over two seasons. He’s one of the highest-drafted offensive lineman drafted by the Giants (4th overall pick in 2020), and his play on the field says it all.

Out of his 29 games, he’s started 28 of them. In 2021, he played every single snap for the first four games of the season. He was the first Giants offensive lineman in the Super Bowl era to record a touchdown reception, and a few weeks earlier had caught a successful 2-point conversion. He blocked for Saquon Barkley during his first 100-yard game at Chicago.

At 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, Thomas’ fitness is second-to-none and his ability to do his job is only getting better.

The Giants are lucky to have Thomas on the line blocking for Daniel Jones and Barkley. That others recognize his ability and talent should reassure the organization and its fans that he needs to stick around.
