Georgia TE Brock Bowers previews draft, updates his injury status

Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers recently interviewed with Sports Seriously’s Mackenzie Salmon ahead of the 2024 NFL draft. Bowers is expected to be a first round pick in the upcoming draft and is widely considered to the the best tight end prospect in years.

Bowers, who missed the Orange Bowl due to an ankle injury, is preparing for the NFL draft. Before the draft, Bowers plans to watch Super Bowl 58, which features an outstanding tight ends match-up. San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce are two of the best players, regardless of position, in the NFL. Kittle and Kelce show the importance of tight ends in the modern NFL.

If NFL teams highly value the tight end position this draft, then Brock Bowers should here his name called very early in the first round. How is Bowers’ draft preparation going? Who does he think will win the Super Bowl?

Brock Bowers missed the College Football Playoff for the first time in his career as a junior. Bowers and Georgia lost to Alabama in the College Football Playoff. Bowers, unlike former Georgia running back James Cook, did not think that Georgia deserved to make the playoff over Alabama.

We did lose to them. We lost late in the year. Trying to get into those playoffs you’ve got to be perfect.

Brock Bowers played through the pain in the SEC championship game and is recovering from an ankle injury ahead of the NFL draft.

I started off a little slow just trying to rehab it and get back to fully 100 percent before I started pushing stuff on it. So yeah, it is going really well now though.

It remains unclear if Bowers will participate at the NFL combine or Georgia’s pro day.

Brock Bowers is projected to go to the Los Angeles Chargers in several mock drafts. Bowers would join former Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh in Los Angeles if the Chargers selected Bowers.

Yeah, that’d be sweet. I mean, I met him during the college recruiting process when I visited Michigan and I talked to him a little bit there. So yeah I like him.

Brock Bowers is one of the top NFL draft prospects, but he will have to undergo numerous interviews with NFL teams ahead of the draft. How will Bowers pitch himself?

I’d just say I’m a low risk guy. I mean, I am just going to come there work hard and do whatever they say and show up on time and do everything right.
