Georgia injury report ahead of UGA vs. Tennessee

No. 1 Georgia (9-0) will face Tennessee (5-4) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in Knoxville.

The Bulldogs are coming off a dominant 43-6 win over Missouri in Athens, and the Volunteers are coming off a 45-42 win at No. 18 Kentucky.

There is some good news on the Georgia injury front.

Quarterback J.T. Daniels is healthy after missing four weeks with a lat injury, and two wideouts have added depth to a receiver room decimated with injuries.

Receivers Jermaine Burton and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint have seen the field the last two weeks. Burton caught three passes for 76 yards and a touchdown versus the Tigers.

We learned on Thursday that the receiver position took another hit. Redshirt freshman receiver and the fastest player on the Georgia team, Arian Smith, suffered a broken leg during practice and will require surgery.

Smith is a track star for the Bulldogs and just saw his first action against Missouri after missing four games. Smith caught a 35-yard touchdown versus the Tigers.

Georgia is still missing starting left tackle and preseason All-American Jamaree Salyer due to a foot injury. UGA coach Kirby Smart said Salyer may be able to go this week in Knoxville.

Here’s an updated UGA injury report for the matchup with Tennessee:

Injury: Foot

Status: Questionable

Kirby Smart: “Jamaree is weight-bearing now, he is able to do that and do his weight-bearing stuff. He’s not getting a lot of reps in practice, but he’s played a lot of football. … We’re still hopeful that he’ll be able to, but we won’t know that until Thursday or Friday.”

WR Justin Robinson

Injury: Hamstring

Status: Questionable

Robinson has been out for the last three weeks but should be back in the lineup soon, possibly this week at Tennessee.

Injury: Knee (MCL)

Status: Doubtful

Milton was sidelined with an MCL strain 3 weeks ago. Smart said he wasn’t sure how long Milton would be out, but noted the injury was slight.

Players who are OUT

  • WR Dominick Blaylock (Hamstring/ knee) – OUT

Kirby Smart: “He’s (Blaylock) probably not going to play this week. I’m not saying that, guys. He’s working against us, that’s a different deal. He is much closer and he’s looked good taking some reps against us.

  • WR George Pickens (Knee) – OUT

Kirby Smart: “There’s a process that has to happen. You don’t just come back from an injury and then just jump in and jump back right where you were. … George has done a little more work this week than he has in the past. We’ve had George at practice catching routes on air. … He’s done more competitive periods in terms of scalps and looking and getting confidence and able to go up and go against some DB’s and things. I don’t know what timeline, I wish I did.”

  • OL Tate Ratledge (Foot) – OUT for season

  • DB Tykee Smith (Knee) – OUT for season

  • CB Jalen Kimber (Shoulder) – OUT for season

  • LB Rian Davis (Quad) – OUT for season

  • WR Arian Smith (Leg) – OUT for season
