Georgia football player arrested on two charges, including felony false imprisonment

A transfer wide receiver who joined the Georgia football program this month was arrested early Monday by university police on two charges including one felony.

Rodarius "Rara" Thomas is charged with felony false imprisonment and misdemeanor battery family violence 1st offense, according to the Clarke County (Georgia) Jail online booking report.

The Mississippi State transfer was booked at 4:05 a.m. and remained jail at 8:20 a.m.

Thomas, 20, from Athens, Alabama, led Mississippi State with 626 receiving yards on 44 catches with 7 touchdowns last season.

He was considered a key addition for the Bulldogs for the 2023 season as Georgia seeks a third straight national title.
