Georgia basketball adds another from transfer portal. This one is son of former Bulldog LB

Georgia basketball has added another transfer portal addition.

This one has a connection to the Bulldogs football program.

RJ Godfrey, son of former Bulldog All-SEC linebacker Randall Godfrey, announced his commitment on his social media accounts on a post from On3.

The 6-foot-8, 228-pound Godfrey was a key member off the bench for a Clemson team that reached the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight last season.

He played two seasons for the Tigers after signing as a three-star prospect from North Gwinnett High.

Godfrey averaged 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds a game last season in 15.5 minutes per game while shooting 59.4 percent from the field.

He scored 12 points in an Elite Eight loss to Alabama, one of nine games he scored in double figures last season.

Godfrey is the fourth player from the transfer portal and sixth newcomer set for coach Mike White's Georgia basketball roster next season.

Randall Godfrey played for Georgia football from 1992-95 before an 11-year NFL career with five teams.
