GC Basketball: BG Lions, Lady Lions sweep their way to way Tounament Title games
Dec. 2—BLOOMING GROVE — How do you explain what's happening with the Blooming Grove boys and girls basketball programs. Well, with apologies to Jimmy Johnson, let's just say "How 'bout them Lions!"
Both the boys team and the girls team at the Grove have swept their way into the title games of the Blooming Grove Basketball Tournament and play for their own tournament championships Saturday.
The Lions have defeated Wortham (56-46), Venus JV (55-17) and Hubbard (63-41) to reach Saturday's title game against Kerens at 1:30 p.m.
The Lady Lions reached the title game with victories over Wortham, Texas Wind and Cross Roads and will play Dallas Madison for the title at noon.
