Gators offer blue-chip west coast wide receiver in 2025 class

Scholarship offers have been flying out of Gainesville of late as Billy Napier and his army of staffers continue their tireless work on the college football recruiting trail. One of those offers was extended to four-star wide receiver Philip Bell out of Mission Viejo (California) in the 2025 class by wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales.

The 6-foot-2-inch, 195-pound pass catcher pulled in 56 receptions for 1,002 yards and 12 touchdowns as a freshman and followed that up with 73 catches for 818 yards and 20 touchdowns as a sophomore with his previous school, Christian Brothers in Sacramento.

He has also been contacted by the Oregon Ducks, Ohio State Buckeyes, USC Trojans, Clemson Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, Michigan Wolverines, Wisconsin Badgers, Miami Hurricanes, UCLA Bruins, Colorado Buffaloes, Penn State Nittany Lions and Tennessee Volunteers, among others.

The high school junior is ranked No. 44 overall and No. 7 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 40 and 7, respectively.

Bell has a crystal ball prediction for USC from 247Sports while On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Trojans in front with a 25.4% chance of landing him; the California Golden Bears (15.1%), Colorado (6.8%) and Washington Huskies (5.6%) follow behind.
