Gators to get initial visit from this 2024 Under Armour All-American

College football recruiting is currently in the midst of one of its dead periods in which teams and recruits are unable to meet face-to-face until the end of the restricted time frame. However, once that short stretch elapses, it is once again fair game for the top prep prospects to pay a visit to the programs of their choice.

While the calendar flips over to the new year, the current dead period runs from Dec. 19 to Jan. 12 — with the exception of the “seven days immediately before the first day of classes of the institution’s second academic term that are not part of the contact period,” which is applicable only to prospective student-athletes who intend to enroll midyear.

Among those at the forefront of Billy Napier and Florida football’s recruiting efforts once the period ends is four-star safety Travaris Banks out of Tuscaloosa (Alabama) Northridge, who has set a visit on campus for Jan. 21 according to his announcement on Twitter. The 6-foot-1-inch, 190-pound defensive back is also being pursued by the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ole Miss Rebels, Auburn Tigers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Tennessee Volunteers and Florida State Seminoles, among other schools.

While the aforementioned schools have extended offers to the high school junior, the Gators have yet to commit to signing Banks. But that could all change after his visit.

Banks is ranked No. 176 overall and No. 13 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 consensus has him at Nos. 152 and 12, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has ‘Bama out front early for his talents with a 44% chance of landing him with Ole Miss in second place at 29.1%.
