Gastonia, Shelby fall sports high school playoffs: NCHSAA, NCISAA scores and schedules

The playoffs have arrived for fall sports teams in Cleveland, Gaston and Lincoln counties.

Here are NCHSAA and NCISAA postseason schedules, scores and results for area teams qualifying in their respective sports.

Burlington Tennis Center will host the 3A individual state tennis championships on Oct. 27 and 28.

  • Rennie Liu, Forestview: Claimed the 3A West regional title.

  • Emma Carver, North Lincoln: Finished second at the 3A West regional.

  • Karsyn Sink, East Lincoln: Placed third at the 3A West regional.

  • Lauren Lucas, South Point: Qualified for the 3A state tournament by placing fourth at the 3A West regional.

Doubles

  • Natalie Gore and Lulu King, North Lincoln: The Knights’ doubles team qualified for the 3A state tournament after placing fourth at the 3A West regional.

2A West

Ting Park in Holly Springs will host the 2A individual state tennis championships on Oct. 27 and 28.

Singles

  • Anna Schweppe, Shelby: Finished third at the 2A West regional to earn a spot in the 2A state tournament.

Doubles

1A West

Cary Tennis Park will host the 1A individual state tennis championships on Oct. 27 and 28.

  • Madison Darnell, Highland Tech: Finished second at the 1A West regional.

State championships

Class 3A

  • South Point: Shot a team total of 549, good for a sixth-place finish. Madison Pruden tied for seventh with a two-day total of 164. Also contributing for the Lady Raiders were Carli Anne Phillips (192), Sophia Travenski (192), Chloe Villareal (199) and Samantha Clements (217).

  • Kyla Callahan, East Lincoln: Finished 17th (173).

  • Audrey Leazer, Stuart Cramer: Finished 56th (195).

  • Madelyn Reynolds, East Lincoln: Finished 43rd (189).

  • Kaliyah Watson, Kings Mountain: Finished 52nd (194).

Class 1A/2A

  • West Lincoln: As a team, the Lady Rebels placed third with a total of 537. Melony Hoffman tied for fifth with a two-day total of 164. Gracie Campbell (184), Ansley Howard (200), Jaylee Smith (201) and Taylor Turner (202) also contributed to the effort.

  • Kaeden Becker, Lincoln Charter: Finished 51st (199).

  • Kaelyn Cherry, Lincoln Charter: Finished 69th (215).

  • Leah Cole, Burns: Finished 15th (173).

  • Raelyn Hilton, East Gaston: Finished 61st (208).

Regionals

3A West

  • South Point: Qualified as a team after finishing third with a score of 278 at Springdale Resort in Canton. Madison Pruden finished seventh at the NCHSAA 3A West regional, shooting an 85. The Lady Raiders wound up third with a team result of 278. Chloe Villareal (94, 13th), Sophia Travenski (99, 21st), Samantha Clements (101, 28th) and Carli Anne Phillips (103, 32nd) also contributed to the effort.

  • East Lincoln: Kyla Callahan (89, 8th); Madelyn Reynolds (99, 21st)

  • Kings Mountain: Kailiyah Watson (96, 17th)

  • Stuart Cramer: Audrey Leazer (99, 21st)

The 3A state tournament will be played at Foxfire Resort.

1A/2A West

  • West Lincoln: Qualified as a team after its total of 267 earned them a third-place finish. Contributing to the Rebels’ performance included: Melony Hoffman (83, 5th); Aynsley Howard (91, 16th), Taylor Turner, (93, 18th); Gracie Campbell, (102, 26th) and Jaylee Smith (107, 37th).

  • Burns: Leah Cole (13th, 88)

  • East Gaston: Raelyn Hilton (25th, 101)

  • Lincoln Charter: Kaeden Becker (18th, 93); Kaelyn Cherry (23rd, 99)

The 1A/2A state tournament will be played at Stonebridge Golf Club in Monroe.

Cross country

NCHSAA state meet

Class 3A

Girls

North Lincoln earned its third state title in a row, the Knights' 63 points eight better than second-place First Flight.

Olivia Ferraro's third-place result (18:33.49) led the way for North Lincoln. Bella Wood (seventh), Cambelle Reffner (12th), Elan Eurey (26th), Sienna Rush (29th), Bella Green (34th) and Kayla Leslie (42nd) contributed to the effort.

East Lincoln's McKenzie Benfield also participated in the race, finishing 70th.

Boys

North Lincoln finished fifth as a team. Connor Bagwell led the way, crossing the line at 16:16.97, good for 15th. Parker St. Jean (20th), Logan Richardson (60th), Eli Rush (73rd), Caleb Trotter (82nd), Daniel Brown (87th) and Ayden Lopez (91st) each contributed to the effort.

Kings Mountain wound up 20th as a team. Max Thompson crossed the line at 16:43.69, good for 26th. Isaiah Watts (48th), Hunter Cruise (155th), David Johnson (157th), Luke Howell (159th), Luis Cedillo (165th) and Elliott Habel (166th) had a part in the Mountaineer effort.

Ashbrook's Nehemiah Garcia also ran, finishing 76th.

2A state championships

Boys

Lincoln Charter finished fifth as a team at the 2A state meet. Bryson Perry (16th), Tucker Caulder (17th), Benito Juarez (46th), Grant Gibbons (67th), Ryan Fay (74th), Brock Pagel (78th) and Ben Bruce (82nd) each contributed to the effort.

Shelby's Damon Cook was the top area finisher, his time of 17:20.99 good for 15th.

Girls

Sophia Champion placed fifth with a time of 20:05.07 in leading Lincoln Charter to a third-place finish. In addition to Champion's result, Bella Lohri (11th), Lorelai Reeb (38th), Lillian Reeb (57th), Eliza Lefler (62nd), Keena Glidden (65th) and Carson Bohen (67th) each played a role in the Eagles' finish.

West Lincoln's Adleigh Sutton finished 48th.

1A state championships

Boys

Mountain Island Charter's Grayson Tillotson finished 51st with a time of 18:07.15.

Girls

Rylan Breath of Mountain Island Charter finished 12th with a time of 20:37.36. Emma Suchenski wound up 23rd with a time of 21:26.62.

3A West

Boys

North Lincoln: Outpaced North Buncombe by 20 points to win the NCHSAA 3A West regional. The Knights scored 58 points. Parker St. Jean (third) led the way, with Connor Bagwell (11th), Eli Rush (13th), Logan Richardson (17th), Caleb Trotter (20th), Ayden Lopez (25th) and Daniel Brown (27th) also contributing.

Kings Mountain: Its sixth place finish out of 25 teams allowed the Mountaineers to qualify for the 3A state meet. Isaiah Watts led his team by finishing 10th, crossing the line in a personal best time of 16:47. Also contributing to the effort were Max Thompson (32nd), Luke Howell (59th), David Johnson (70th), Hunter Cruise (99th), Luis Cedillo (108th) and Elliot Habel (112th).

Nehemiah Garcia, Ashbrook: Finished 15th, good enough to earn a spot in the 3A state meet.

Girls

North Lincoln: The Knights 41 points were enough to outpace second-place North Buncombe by 12. Olivia Ferraro earned her team’s top result with a second-place finish (18:34). Bella Wood (fourth), Bella Green (sixth), Campbell Reffner (11th), Sienna Rush (18th), Kaya Leslie (30th) and Elan Eurey (35th) also contributed to the effort.

McKenzie Benfield, East Lincoln: Finished 20th, good enough to qualify for the 3A state meet.

2A West

Boys

Lincoln Charter: Qualified for the 2A state meet after finishing third as a team. Tucker Caulder led the Eagles with a fourth place finish (16:51). Also contributing to the effort was Bryson Perry (seventh), Benito Juarez (12th), Grant Gibbons (30th), Ben Bruce (31st), Ryan Fay (34th) and Brock Pagel (35th).

Damon Cook, Shelby: Finished sixth with a time of 17:03 to qualify for the 2A state meet.

Girls

Lincoln Charter: Earned the 2A West title, outpacing Pine Lake Prep by 19 points. Sophia Champion was the team’s top finisher, placing fourth (20:06.20). Bella Lohri (eighth), Lorelai Reeb (ninth), Lillian Reeb (18th), Kenna Glidden (19th), Eliza Lefler (20th) and Carson Bohen (28th) also contributed to the effort.

Adleigh Sutton, West Lincoln: Finished 12th overall, good for her to qualify for the 2A state meet.

1A West

Boys
