Game time, TV announced for Tennessee vs NC State football

Tennessee football will play NC State in a night game on Sept. 7 in Charlotte.

It will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and be televised on ABC at Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers and the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

Game times and TV arrangements were announced for numerous SEC games on Wednesday. Tennessee will play Chattanooga in the season opener on Aug. 31 at Neyland Stadium, but that game time has not been announced.

The Vols' game against NC State will be a key early season test in the Duke's Mayo Classic, especially as Nico Iamaleava takes over as the starting quarterback.

Tennessee and NC State have played three times. In their last meeting in 2012, the Vols beat the Wolfpack 35-21 in another neutral site game in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta.

Last season, NC State posted a 9-4 record. It added Coastal Carolina transfer Grayson McCall at quarterback for the 2024. He has passed for more than 10,000 yards in his career.

Tennessee last played at Bank of America Stadium in a 40-14 loss to West Virginia to open the 2018 season.
