Friday's Top Prep Performers: Camarillo boys stay tied for 1st; Westlake girls clinch title

Highlights from Friday in high school sports:

BOYS BASKETBALL

  • Tyler Hook scored a game-high 27 points and Evan Dela Paz had 12 points as Camarillo beat Simi Valley 66-42 to remain tied for first place in the Coastal Canyon League. The Scorpions (17-9) are tied with Oak Park at 4-2 in league play. Kyle Hoffer scored 13 points, Clark Fischer had 11 points and Ryder Mjoen had nine points and six assists for the Pioneers (16-11, 4-3), who dropped to a half-game back of first.

  • Yoni Dotan finished with 25 points, eight rebounds and two assists, Tyson Howarth had 11 points, two assists and two rebounds, and AJ Mai had eight points, two rebounds and two assists to lead Moorpark (9-17, 4-3) to a 72-61 victory over Royal in a Coastal Canyon League game. The Musketeers are a half-game back of first place. Ace Arnold scored a game-high 27 points, Parker Hill and Gavin Wright each had eight points, and Grayson Rothfield added seven points for the Highlanders (17-9, 0-6).

  • Nick Giarrusso finished with 18 points, five rebounds and four assists, Stevie Prudholme scored 13 points, and Troy McGovern had 12 points to lead Oaks Christian (16-10, 6-2) to a 67-52 victory over Agoura in a Marmonte League game. The Lions, who are tied for second in the Marmonte, clinched a postseason berth with the win. Ethan Klopp scored a game-high 25 points and Jake Chodorow had 14 points for the Chargers (9-17, 2-6).

  • Tidiane Sy scored 24 points, Odijie Okojie had a career-high 14 points, and Luke Proffer contributed eight points to lead Calabasas (16-9, 3-5) to a 77-57 victory over Newbury Park in a Marmonte League game. Miles Montero scored 15 points, Alex Depatie had 14 points and Tyler Nowak added nine points for the Panthers (12-14, 0-8).

  • Nathaniel Gomez had 20 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, Marcos Ramirez finished with 19 points, five assists and four steals, Matthew Samaan scored 11 points, and David Giron had 10 points as Oxnard (21-5, 11-1) remained tied for first place in the Channel League with a 66-63 win over Rio Mesa. Jackson Knowles scored 26 points, John Moreno had 16 points, Rohan Gregory Stankey had eight points, and Rodney Adams Jr. added seven points for the Spartans (8-16, 4-8).

  • Finn Fancher had 21 points and five rebounds, Caleb Sebek finished with 13 points and four rebounds, and Travis Valenzuela added 10 points and four rebounds for Ventura (8-15, 7-5) in its 69-53 road loss to Channel League co-leader Santa Barbara (19-7, 11-1).

  • Josh Ullegue scored 10 points, Josh Toll had eight points and Wakine Molina had seven points for Buena (11-14, 5-7) in its 58-41 loss to San Marcos in a Channel League match.

  • Donald Clark IV scored 17 points, Jeremy Goodcase had 16 points, Dylan Benner finished with 12 points and nine rebounds, Jaden Whitehead had 10 points, and Sam Seiden contributed seven points and 10 assists as first-place St. Bonaventure (18-8, 6-0) clinched at least a share of the Tri-Valley League title with a 90-43 win over Bishop Diego. The Seraphs can secure the outright title with a win in either of their final two league games.

  • Julian Espinoza had 11 points, three steals and three assists, Adrian Jimenez had eight points and four assists, and Andy Pimental had six points and six rebounds while taking three charges for Santa Clara (10-14, 2-4) in its 71-40 loss to Dunn in a Tri-Valley League game.

  • Ashton Brown scored 16 points and Brody Baker had nine points for Foothill Tech (11-13, 3-2) in its 46-43 loss to Thacher (10-5, 5-2) in a Frontier League game.

  • Rylan Wynn scored nine points, Cayden Budlong had eight points, Josh Jackson had six points and four rebounds, Rob Holdsworth had five points and five rebounds, Jeremy Kirchner had four points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Joaquin Fontan had four points and seven rebounds, and John Roman had four points and six rebounds for Nordhoff (5-19) in its 53-50 loss to Beacon Hill in a nonleague game.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

  • Sophomore sensation Mathis Dritz scored 29 points, Devin Feiereisen had 16 points, Emma Ange finished with 11 points, and Taylor Swanson added seven points as Westlake (15-6, 8-0) clinched the Marmonte League championship with a 68-36 victory over Thousand Oaks. Jillian McGillivray scored 10 points to lead the Lancers (11-14, 4-4).

  • Presley Kushner scored 11 points and Andrea Woodward, Brooklyn Shamblin and Bonita Liu each had seven points to lead Oaks Christian (8-16, 3-5) to a 46-22 victory over Agoura (1-24, 0-9) in a Marmonte League game.

  • Jocelynn Townsend scored 19 points, Maddy Tauro had 18 points, Lia Hendelman had 12 points, and Scarlett Weiner added nine points to lead second-place Calabasas (10-12, 5-3) to a 72-63 win over Newbury Park in a Marmonte League game. Kierabella Coletta-Todd scored a career-high 32 points and also grabbed 17 rebounds, Skylar Komatsu finished with 13 points and three assists, Kai Mekari had seven points and three rebounds, Kimiko Carmer had five points, four rebounds and three steals, and Greta Heath added four points, 12 rebounds and three steals for the Panthers (21-5, 4-4).

  • Daniela Rocha finished with 19 points and four assists, Emerson Martin had 14 points and five rebounds, Elizabeth Rocha had 13 points and two steals, Angelina Rivera had 11 points and three rebounds, and Christa Contreras had 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead Camarillo (19-6, 5-1) to an 81-48 victory over Simi Valley (8-15, 3-4) in a Coastal Canyon League game.

  • Aryanna Lopez dropped in 29 points, Alyssa Garcia had 10 points, three assists and two steals, Jalynn Rico had nine points, nine assists and five rebounds, Angie Aguilera had eight points, seven rebounds and four assists, Alyse Ramirez had seven points, seven steals and seven rebounds, and Madilyn Stonebraker grabbed 17 rebounds and finished with eight points and three assists to lead first-place Santa Paula (17-8, 10-0) to a 71-27 win over Malibu in a Citrus Coast League game.

  • Giovanna Martinez set a program record with 26 rebounds and also had 21 points, four assists and two steals, Jocelyn Martinez finished with 17 rebounds, four points and four steals, Isabella Cerda had six points, two rebounds and two assists, Elizabeth Abarrientos scored six points, Joanna Romero had five points, Ruby Barajas had four points, three steals, two assists and two rebounds, and LeShelle Lee added two points, four rebounds and four steals to lead Channel Islands to a 51-23 victory over Hueneme in a Citrus Coast League game.

BOYS SOCCER

  • Uziel Diaz, Gabriel Torreblanca, and Zach Reer scored goals to lead first-place Thousand Oaks (11-7-2, 6-1-1) to a 3-0 victory over Westlake (9-5-3, 2-4-2) in a Marmonte League match.

  • Kevin Zendejas finished with a hat trick, Jake Tomay and Finnley Luis both had a goal and an assist, Johnny Leko and Ryan Gunderson had assists, and Luke Bussiere made 10 saves to earn the shutout in net to lead Agoura (9-4-3, 5-1-2) to a 5-0 victory over Oaks Christian (2-12, 0-8) in a Marmonte League match.

  • Calabasas (7-2-4, 3-2-3) earned a 1-0 shutout of Newbury Park (8-9-2, 3-3-2) in a Marmonte League match.

  • Jonathan Flintoff scored two goals and Brady Conyers had a goal to lead Moorpark (11-7-3, 5-1-1) to a 3-0 victory over Royal (8-10-3, 1-4-1) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Hagen Hodio scored the game's lone goal to lift Camarillo (8-9-1, 3-3) to a 1-0 victory over Simi Valley (3-14-2, 0-6-1) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Benjamin Aguilar finished with a goal and two assists, Damian Renteria had a goal and an assist, and Bryan Garibay scored a goal to lead first-place Channel Islands (13-2-1, 8-1-1) to a 4-1 victory over Hueneme (3-11-1, 3-5) in a Citrus Coast League match.

  • Jesus Canchola scored two goals, Leo Villegas finished with a goal and an assist, and Jesus Angel Avila had an assist to lead Fillmore (7-7-5, 5-4-1) to a 3-0 victory over Nordhoff in a Citrus Coast League game.

GIRLS SOCCER

  • Layla Simon scored the tying goal in second-half stoppage time and Tahirih Vahdat had a goal as Westlake (11-1-3, 5-1-2) secured a 2-2 draw with Thousand Oaks in a showdown of Marmonte League leaders. Riley Pink and Maddie Linville scored the goals for the Lancers (9-1-4, 4-1-3).

  • Skylar Bierig scored two goals and Ruby Stimer and Maddie Neier had goals to lead Newbury Park (7-6-2, 2-4-2) to a 4-0 victory over Calabasas (8-8-4, 0-7-1) in a Marmonte League match.

  • Scarlette Druian finished with two goals and an assist, Charlotte Ward scored two goals, Jonnie-Jane Quiroz had a goal and two assists, Avery Oder had a goal and an assist, Ella Pfeiffer and Isa Wieder scored goals, Alyssa Assouad had two assists, and Lauren Gatien had an assist to lead Oaks Christian (11-3-1, 6-1-1) to an 8-0 victory over Agoura (3-10-1, 2-5-1) in a Marmonte League match.

  • Mackenzie Gwin netted a hat trick and had an assist, Aleiyah Schexnayder scored a goal, Alina Miller and Jessica Shepherd had assists, and Jessica Heybl and Makenna Gout combined for the shutout in net to lead Camarillo (7-4-1, 5-1) to a 4-0 victory over Simi Valley (8-7-1, 0-6-1) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Zaina Barakat finished with a hat trick, Gianna Foss had a goal and an assist, Payton Fraser and Linnea Peltonen had assists, and McKenzie Terp and Mikailey Powell combined for the shutout in net to lead first-place Moorpark (8-5-1, 6-1) to a 4-0 victory over Royal (4-12-2, 0-5-1) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Marlene Gonzalez finished with two goals and an assist, Athena Sanchez and Victory Pina each had a goal and an assist, and Monica Botello had an assist to lead Fillmore (10-3-0, 8-2) to a 4-0 win over Nordhoff in a Citrus Coast League game.

  • Jackie Lopez scored the game's lone goal off an assist from Jackie Corral and Kim Cruz and Natalie Ruiz played well to lead Hueneme (8-6-0, 7-4) to a 1-0 victory over Channel Islands in a Citrus Coast League match.
