Friday's Top Prep Performers: Camarillo baseball finishes perfect in Coastal Canyon League

Highlights from Friday in high school sports:

BASEBALL

  • Tommy Goodin had a walk-off RBI double as Camarillo finished the regular season as unbeaten Coastal Canyon League champions with a 3-2 win over Simi Valley (14-11-2, 6-5-1). Nate Tostado had a double and two RBIs and Nick Tostado allowed six hits and no earned runs while striking out 11 in a complete game for the Scorpions (19-5, 12-0).

  • Cameron Johnson and Greg Lareva each had a triple and two RBIs to lead Moorpark to a 7-1 win over Oak Park in a Coastal Canyon League finale. The Musketeers finished (15-10-1, 7-4-1) second in league. Jackson Weir went 2 for 4 for the Eagles (4-15, 0-12).

  • Zach Rubinstein went 2 for 3 with an RBI, Nate Castellon was 2 for 3, Matthew Witkow and AJ Seidel each went 1 for 3 with an RBI, and Lee Atkinson struck out six in 3.1 innings as Calabasas beat Agoura 5-2 in a Marmonte League finale. The Coyotes (19-9, 10-5) finished second in league behind Westlake. Nahuel Ibanez went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs and Will Michelman was 2 for 3 for the Chargers (14-14, 6-9).

  • Caden Sramek allowed four hits while striking five in four scoreless innings and was 2 for 2 with a home run and two RBIs, Zach Nagy went 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs, and Jayden Williams and Ethan Hall each went 1 for 3 with an RBI as Royal (16-12) ended its regular season with a 6-1 win over Rio Mesa in a nonleague game. Gavin Samora and Tommy Castaneda each went 2 for 4 and Austin DeMello had a hit and an RBI for the Spartans (16-9-1).

SOFTBALL

  • Lily Knox had a grand slam, triple and five RBIs, Terrianna Kelley was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, and Ilove'a Brittingham had a double and two RBIs to lead Oaks Christian to a 14-7 win over Rio Mesa in a nonleague game between league champions to end the regular season. Hailey Olivera hit a grand slam, Analia Lopez went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Sarah Coccillos was 2 for 4, Mariah Reyes had a double and an RBI, and Jasmine Reyes had a hit and an RBI for the Spartans (22-5).

  • Newbury Park (20-5) ended its regular season with an 8-7 walk-off win over Camarillo (20-6) and a 3-2 victory over Saugus in the Camarillo one-day tournament. Janessa Gutierrez went 2 for 3 with two home runs and four RBIs in the win over Camarillo. Taylor Cook pitched a complete game with four strikeouts, Gutierrez had a homer and two RBIs, Nikki Kennedy had a double and the game-winning RBI, and Sara Foster went 2 for 3 against Saugus.

  • Amanda Baldwin went 3 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs, Mia Morera was 2 for 4 with an RBI, Dani Shinko went 2 for 3, and Samy Gallegos was 1 for 3 to lead Westlake (18-8) to a 4-3 win over Camarillo. The Warriors lost to Saugus 8-4 in their first game.

  • Holly White had a home run and two RBIs, Josephine Gallo went 2 for 3, and Julianna Galbraith allowed four hits and one run while striking out eight in a complete-game effort in the circle to lead Royal (13-7) to a 3-1 victory over Oxnard in a nonleague game to finish the regular season. Layla Mukul was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Alizsa Rosas went 2 for 4 for the Yellowjackets (15-8-1).
