Here are Friday's high school sports results for the Wausau and Stevens Point area

BASEBALL

Oshkosh North 12, Wausau West 2

OSHKOSH - Kegan Schlichting pitched the Spartans to the victory, striking out eight batters in the nonconference win.

Schlichting also had two hits, two RBIs, stole four bases and scored two runs.

Jackson Hill added three hits and three RBIs for the Spartans, and Carson Steinbeck had two RBIs.

Abbotsford/Colby 5, Edgar 4

EDGAR - The Falcons built a three-run lead and held off a late Wildcats rally.

J.V. Castillo drove in a pair of runs and Payton Schreiber had two hits to power Abby/Colby.

Castillo got the win, pitching five innings, allowing just two earned runs and three hits, while walking six and striking out eight.

Jase Apfelbeck and Dillan Yonker had two hits apiece to lead Edgar.

Neillsville 8, Owen-Withee 2

OWEN - Bryce Erickson, Reese McDonald, Sam Hayes and Gavyn McFarlane had two hits each as the Warriors scored once in the first, twice in the third, four in the fourth and one in the fifth to earn the Cloverbelt Conference-East win.

Ethan Sowieja had the only RBI for the Blackhawks.

Pittsville 6, Assumption 5

WISCONSIN RAPIDS - The Panthers held off a late charge by the Royals.

Pittsville built a 4-1 lead in the sixth, but Assumption answered with a pair of runs in the bottom half. Both teams scored twice in the seventh, but the Royals couldn’t push across the tying or winning runs.

Joey Downs had three hits, while Dylan Luther added two for Pittsville.

Jack Klatt and Walker Livernash had two hits each to pace Assumption.

SOFTBALL

Mosinee 10, Tomahawk 0

MOSINEE - Ava Busse pitched a perfect game, striking out 11 batters to lead Mosinee to the Great Northern Conference victory.

Amber Gonzalez, Daisy Spink, Maggie Woller and Martina Miller all had two hits, with Woller and Briley Kaczor adding two RBIs each for Mosinee.

Athens 12-16, Rib Lake 0-5

ATHENS - The Bluejays scored in eight of nine innings to earn the doubleheader sweep.

In the opener, Athens scored three in the first, one in the second and eight in the fourth as Danica Diethelm and Paige Westaby combined on the five-inning no-hitter.

Jazelle Hartwig was 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Addison Lavicka and Sydney Coker were both 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Elle Gauerke tripled and drove in three runs.

In Game 2, Athens led 7-5 after three before putting the game out of reach with six runs in the fourth and three in the fifth.

Gauerke was 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Hartwig was 3-for-5 with four RBIs, Lavicka 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Sydney Coker and Jenna Handschke added two hits apiece for the Bluejays.

Assumption 6, Edgar 0 (Thursday)

WISCONSIN RAPIDS - The Royals scored six runs in the fifth inning in their win over the Wildcats.

Assumption scored its runs on a pair of bases-loaded walks, a two-run error and a two-run single by Macy Vollert.

Stevens Point Girls Invitational

GIRLS

Marshfield won the meet comfortably by 57 points over runner-up D.C. Everest.

Marshfield got first-place finishes from Danielle Minsaas (high jump, 5-0), Casey Dasler (pole vault, 9-9), Aubri Brown (discus, 123-8; shot put, 39-2), the 800-meter relay (1:50.56), Michaela Dick (400, :59.87) and Natalie Scharenbroch (3,200, 12:26.70).

For D.C. Everest, Megan Zemke won the long jump (16-3.5), the 100 hurdles (:15.61) and the 300 hurdles (:46.95). Elaina Kamke won the triple jump (33-4.75), Ellia Roble won the 100 (:12.88) and the 400 relay team also took first (:51.28).

Stevens Point won the 3,200 relay (10:58.74), the 1,600 (Sarah Hopp, 5:23.74), the 800 (Lilly Higgins, 2:22.60) and the 1,600 relay (4:15.50).

Wisconsin Rapids’ Ava Etheridge won the 200 (:26.72).

In the girls meet, Notre Dame’s Danika Apple won the 100 (:12.83) and the 200 (:26.78) while the 400 relay team took first (:50.91), as did the 800 relay team (1:52.05).

Marisa Harvey of Green Bay Southwest won the pole vault (10-6).

Wausau West’s Laiana Oldenburg-Marsh took first in the long jump (16-7.75).

New London won the 1,600 relay (4:12.77).

Howards Grove’s Eden Maranell won the 400 (1:00.29) and the triple jump (35-.25).

Peshtigo’s Rachel Nelson won the 800 (2:29.99) and the 1,600 (5:28.64). Christina Powers took first in the shot put (34-10).

Cate Anderson of Sturgeon Bay took first in the 100 hurdles (:16.44).

Ashwaubenon’s Lauren Mader won the discus (117-8).

Sophie Norton of St. Mary’s Springs won the 300 hurdles (:50.21). The Ledgers won the 3,200 relay (10:19.32).

In the boys meet, Notre Dame got first-place finishes from Isaac Nowak (800, 1:59.99; 1,600, 4:35.77) and James Flanigan (discus, 161-3).

Green Bay Southwest’s Lyndon Hemmrich-Hartman won the 100 (:11:09). The 400 relay team took first with a time of :44.71. CJ Danforth won the high jump (5-10) and the long jump (21-3.5).

Ashwaubenon’s Adam Newel took first in the shot put (49-7.75).

New London’s Ian Oberstadt won the triple jump (43-2).

Denmark’s Simon Alexander won the 200 (:22.36). Denmark won the 1,600 relay (3:31.51). Ethan Bergelin won the pole vault (13-9).

Gillett won the 3,200 relay (8:22.10).

Wausau West won the 800 relay (1:34.45).

St. Mary’s Springs’ Thomas Koffman won the 110 hurdles (:16.11) and the 300 hurdles (:42.63).

Iola-Scandinavia’s Charlie Vater won the 3,200 (9:14.27).

In the girls meet, Edgar got first-place finishes from Amber Skrzypcak (100 hurdles, :17.08; 300 hurdles, :50.94), Megan Schnelle (100, :13.15; 400, 1:01.48; 200, :26.55) and Sam Schmidt (3,200, 16:20.65).

Sheboygan North had a first-place finish from Destiny Duesterback in the shot put (36-6).

In the boys meet, Edgar’s first-place finishes came from Kohlbe Weisenberg (400, :51.90) and Teegan Streit (300 hurdles, :42.24; triple jump 43-0).

Sheboygan North did not have any first-place finishes in the boys meet.

GIRLS SOCCER

Assumption 7, Amherst/Iola-Scandinavia 0

AMHERST - Kendall Duellman scored four goals and added an assist as the Royals scored four second-half goals to put the match out of reach.

Addi Vollert added two goals and an assist, while Lucy Dolan added a goal and Sarah Shaw two assists.

“So happy with the girls' performance tonight,” coach Jim Wendels said. “I can’t think of a better way to spend my Friday night. They took everything we’ve been training upon and put it all together to create a dominating performance. We possessed, passed, crossed and defended so well.”
