The battle for Milk Can Trophy
The Fresno State Bulldogs are coming off one of their worst losses in program history. With No Haner or Evan Williams the Bulldogs looked flat against the Uconn Huskies and paid the price with a 19-14 loss. Now the Bulldogs open up conference play looking to turn the season around.
Find a Rhythm
Tonight will be Logan Fife’s second career start in a sold out environment. Fife did not look good last week but some of that was Fife never found rhythm. A missed handle snap during the first drive put Fife in a downward spiral. If the Dogs want any success on offense they have to get in a rhythm. Get the ball out quick and get to your playmakers. Put the ball in the hands of Copper, Remigio, and Brooks. The Dogs have a lot of speedy playmakers that could really get this offense going.
Run Defense
It could be a long night if the defense can’t stop the run. With Williams out and now with Levelle Bailey questionable, can someone step on this defense and give some leadership. The Bulldogs gave up 183 rushing yards to Uconn. Boise State is coming off a 300 yard rushing game including 105 of those yards coming from dual threat QB Taylen Green. Bulldogs have to find a way to contain the Broncos run game and make them beat them through the air!
Kirby Moore
It is year one for Kirby Moore and we have seen a lot of growing pains with the play calling and this offense. Can that change tonight? If the Bulldogs are going to have any chance tonight they need Moore to be creative. Stay with the run game and get your playmakers involved. This offense is too talented to just score 14 points to Uconn. Could we see dual threat QB Jaylen Henderson in some packages today?
Prediction:
Fresno State is coming off one of its worst losses in program history. Boise State found something with their offense last week. Can the Bulldogs bounce back and start conference play 1-0? Can Boise State keep their rushing attack going and keep the Milk Can Trophy for a second consecutive year?
