The New England Free Jacks are coming off their most successful Major League Rugby season in team history, finishing atop the 2022 Eastern Conference standings with a 13-3-0 record.
At their Media Day event Wednesday, the Free Jacks unveiled a new training facility in Quincy, Mass.
"It's really an exciting moment for us," Free Jacks head coach Scott Mathie told reporters. "I think we did really well last year, but I think with everything we've put in place, the players that we've recruited, really suggest that 2023 can be even better."
Practice makes perfect, and with a brand new place to perfect their craft, there is plenty of optimism surrounding the Free Jacks and their potential this coming season.
"I think that, as we stand here today in this new venue, the excitement I've seen the players have coming to this new space, I think everyone can attest to just how professional it is," Mathie said.
"We've seen an uptick in everything that we've done. All of our training -- just the energy driven from an environment like this is amazing."
The Free Jacks' first regular season game is Feb. 17 against NOLA Gold on the road. The team's first home game is March 11 versus Old Glory DC at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy.
NBC Sports Boston will televise all 16 Free Jacks games in the 2023 season.
