Cardiff Devils have signed highly-rated defenceman Gleason Fournier and Great Britain forward Brett Perlini for the 2024-25 season.

Fournier, 32, will return after a four-year absence on a two-year deal. The Canadian left Devils in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic and has spent the last four seasons playing in Austria's premier competition.

Fournier said: “I always knew I wanted to come back here eventually, and I am happy that the team wanted me back and we could make it happen."

Fournier first joined the Devils during the 2015-16 season and went on to establish himself as a fans' favourite in the Welsh capital.

Perlini, 33, joins from German side Saale Bulls Halle.

Devils head coach Pete Russell said Perlini "will bring leadership and experience to the locker room.

"He competes hard every night and does the little things right to be successful."
