TEAM OF THE WEEK

Kenosha Tremper

The Trojans swept three opponents last week, including two Southeast Conference foes, to move atop the conference as the regular season draws to a close. In a 5-1 win over Kenosha Indian Trail on Monday, Chloe Fitch's two goals and Tess Callahan's three assists led the scoring. Emily Giese added a goal and two assists, Lauren Thomey added a goal, Sofia Rademacher had an assist and Emily Slye had a goal and an assist. Addie Melichar pitched a 70-minute shutout in goal before giving way to Juliana Alfono for the final 10 minutes. In Tuesday's 3-0 win over Racine Park, Thomey had two goals while Slye added a goal and assist. Fitch and Callahan added an assist each as well, while Melichar shut out Park. The week wrapped up with an 8-0 nonconference win over Burlington, highlighted by two-goal games for Slye, Thomey and Giese. Maddie Chianello and Rademacher each added a goal, while Callahan tallied two assists and Melichar and Alfono combined for the shutout. Kenosha Tremper improved to 6-0 in the Southeast, ahead of Franklin (5-1). The Trojans entered the week with a chance to clinch the conference outright with a win Tuesday night over Kenosha Bradford.

COMING UP

Kettle Moraine at Sussex Hamilton, 7 p.m. Thursday: The leaders of the Classic 8 Conference entering the week visit the leaders of the Greater Metro Conference in a battle of two of our three top area teams.

Nicolet at Whitefish Bay, 7 p.m. Thursday: Two of the four teams alive in the North Shore race (with Cedarburg and Homestead) renew a conference rivalry.

New Berlin Eisenhower at Lake Country Lutheran, 4:30 p.m. Friday: Two highly competitive area teams with three losses between them entering the week test their mettle in the leadup to the WIAA postseason.
