Four-star DB Tae Harris commits to Clemson over LSU, Georgia Tech

LSU has the makings of an elite class in the 2025 recruiting cycle, but it missed on a blue-chip prospect on Monday.

Four-star Cedartown (Ga.) defensive back Tae Harris committed to the Clemson Tigers over LSU and Georgia Tech, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Harris is a top-200 prospect nationally in the 2025 class, with the 247Sports Composite ranking him as the 15th-best safety in the class, while On3 has him as a corner and is a bit lower on him.

“Mentally, I have known it was Clemson,” Harris told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Everywhere I would go, I would compare it to Clemson. I looked at the different schools and I would say, ‘These schools have to beat Clemson.’ Nobody beat them. They kept standing at the top. Every box is checked by Clemson.”

His decision doesn’t come as a major surprise. He had received multiple Crystal Ball projections in favor of Clemson, and now he’s set to join Dabo Swinney’s squad.

Even with Harris heading to the other Death Valley, LSU is in good shape in 2025 as its class currently ranks No. 1. It already has one cornerback commit from top-100 prospect Jaboree Antoine.
