Former UND center Tyson Jost traded to Minnesota Wild
Mar. 15—ST. PAUL, Minn. — Former UND forward Tyson Jost is headed to the Minnesota Wild.
The Colorado Avalanche traded Jost to the Wild in exchange for forward Nico Sturm, who played college hockey at Clarkson.
Jost is expected to make his Wild debut Wednesday night against the Boston Bruins in Xcel Energy Center.
Jost and the Wild also will play at home at 1 p.m. Saturday against Jonathan Toews and the Chicago Blackhawks — a game that will be sandwiched between UND's National Collegiate Hockey Conference semifinal against Western Michigan on Friday night and the NCHC title game Saturday.
Jost has been with the Avalanche since he turned pro in the spring of 2017.
The Alberta native has 103 points in 321 career games with the Avalanche. Jost also has 10 points in 40 playoff games.
This season, Jost has six goals and 14 points in 59 games.
During his lone collegiate season, Jost finished second on UND in scoring with 35 points in 33 games.
Jost, the first player to commit to UND under coach Brad Berry, was selected No. 10 overall in the 2016 NHL Draft.
Jost is one of 24 former UND players to play in the NHL this season.
