Former UNCW baseball player Noah Bridges signs with Savannah Bananas for 2024

Former UNCW baseball player Noah Bridges is returning to the Savannah Bananas for 2024, the team announced on social media on Tuesday.

Bridges played five years at UNCW from 2018-2022, racking up 234 appearances and 16 home runs before joining the Bananas in 2022 after graduation.

The Savanah Bananas are an exhibition barnstorming baseball team based in Savannah, Georgia. Founded in 2016, the team has exploded in popularity since leaving the Coastal Plain League and creating a separate style of baseball called Banana Ball in 2021.

The untraditional antics, such as players dancing in between pitches and rule changes prohibiting bunts or counting fan-caught foul balls as outs, have resonated with baseball watchers across the country. The team was even the spotlight of an ESPN+ series titled "Bananaland"

During their 2023 tour, the Bananas visited 21 states and sold more than 550,000 tickets while sporting a ticket waitlist of more than 1 million names.
