Former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George, now the coach at Tennessee State, was named one of 25 modern-era semifinalists Tuesday for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2024.

George, who played from 1996-2003, also was also a semifinalist in 2022. He was first nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012.

In 2011 George, who won the 1995 Heisman Trophy at Ohio State, was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

George was added to the Titans/Oiler Ring of Honor and Hall of Fame in 2008 along with Steve McNair and Frank Wycheck.

George led TSU to a 6-5 record this season, which was the Tigers' first winning mark since 2017. He has been at TSU since 2021.
