Former Sooners QB Kyler Murray signs massive extension with Cardinals
Former Oklahoma Sooners QB and future Heisman Park occupier Kyler Murray signed a five-year extension worth $230.5M with the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday. The deal ties Murray to Arizona through the 2028 season and is worth an average annual value of $46.1 million per year.
The 2018 Heisman winner was reported to be at odds with the Cardinals, and at one point deleted all posts relating to them on his Instagram acount back in February. He also unfollowed the Cardinals on Twitter.

Murray earned the first playoff berth of his career in 2021, but ran straight into the eventual Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams. The Cardinals lost that game 34-11
Now that Murray has his contract and his weapons on offense, the time is now to bring success back to the desert. Arizona has made the playoffs once in the last six seasons.
The NFC West did get a little bit easier in the offseason with Russell Wilson traded to from the Seattle Seahawks to the Denver Broncos.
Murray’s contract is yet another situation that Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has no doubt been watching very closely. Jackson reported to Baltimore’s facility earlier today for training camp.
The only player in the NFL with a higher average annual value than Kyler Murray is former MVP Aaron Rodgers.
