Former Patriots RB has ‘high confidence’ in team’s offensive direction

The new-look offense for the New England Patriots hasn’t been smooth, as the team has tried to implement it over the course of training camp. However, one former Patriot does not seem to be sounding an alarm with the preseason slate coming to a close.

Bill Belichick, Joe Judge, and Matt Patricia have all had their hand in working with the offense. Quarterback Mac Jones has given Patricia praise with New England still trying to work things out.

Despite uncertainty surrounding the offense, former Patriots running back James White does not seem too concerned about the direction things are headed in. He gave his reasoning to Mike Reiss of ESPN earlier this week.

“I have high confidence in it because a lot of coaches, especially here, they’ve coached on the defensive side, the offensive side, they coach different positions,” White told Reiss. “I think that’s the beautiful thing about coaching here — you’re going to learn the game from all different angles.

“And Matt Patricia and Joe Judge, they’ve seen a lot of football from different vantage points. I think it will all work out. They’re learning. It’s a learning curve for everyone.”

New England fans may be a bit concerned about how the offense is going to work out. Nevertheless, White’s words could put some minds at ease.
